Where does Thornton rank among the worst WR's drafted?

He was only picked 18 slots after Harry. Thornton was worse than Harry, so I think he's #1.
Fourth and Fifth round picks Doubs and Shakir developed over that Bum.

The writer completely ignores what happened until what Jackson said at the very end. He said he couldn't make a cut after his ACL injury. His knee was shot. Maybe he ends up a bust anyways, but we'll never know.
For some reason I can't remember Jackson making much impact I think he had one good game in 06 I believe..
He didn't play much because of the hammy. The first game against the Jets he had some nice catches and he took the top off the Bears defense forcing a PI call. He was way more impactful than Harry was.
I remember good games against the Jets, Vikings for some reason.
I remember Tom and the Vets hated how immature he was.
He got hammered at a charity event.
Posters that went to the training camp that season said Tom yelled at him a lot.

Bethel Johnson wasn't a total bust I remember him making some plays here and there.

Oh yes the Vikings beat down that game at Vikings... who can forget that game.. the vets we had at the time Bruschi, colvin, vrabel, Rodney.. locker room generals.. that's the year we also signed gaffney and Gabriel, Caldwell.. gaffney ended up being out best WR that season.

Wasn’t one of the biggest knocks on Thornton was small hands?
Vs George Pickens who has oven mitts and it makes a massive difference catching a football in traffic.

We had Romeo Doubs in twice for visits and still didn't Draft him.
I like your guy doubs... I hear he's a malcontent in GB?.. missing team meeting and practice...

Bethel was good for a deep threat here and there.
Same thing with Brandon Tate who Was a really good kick returner.
Taylor price was a bust Aaron Dobson was a bust Chad Jackson became a bust KNeal Harry was a bust trading for the corpse of Sanu was ass 9,
Polk is looking Aaron Dobson 2.0 I’m terrified of drafting WRs pay or trade for actual studs.

Bethel Johnson wasn't a total bust I remember him making some plays here and there

Eh, he was controversial as they passed on Anquan Boldin.

He did however have some nice returns and caught an occasional deep pass.

The list was was terrible though. Kenyatta Jones at #5? What?

I remember.
Just like Samuel and Brown who both thought they were coming to the Pats.
Mcdaniels worked out Lamar Jackson the evening before the draft and Bill takes Isiah Wynn and Panasonic Michel.

Even in 2006 the ACL injuries to players was still a career ender.. I think I remember hearing advancements came around the time Brady had his.. where as it's not the same career killer is used to be. 80s, 90s early 2000s..

One of the reasons I wanted BB gone...how could you watch both players and come away with Thornton. That was a blatant overdraft or Reach you could clearly see that Pickens was the superior player. But of course through those Binoculars Tyquan looked better.

Don't remind me...let me at him....let me at him where's BB?? I'm royally pissed off hold my beer.

I was worried he was done. Carson Palmer was never the same after his despite having some success later with the Cardinals. He still wasn't as good as he was pre injury.

I admit guys. I wasn't looking for WRs...

Damn I was hopeful he was going to do better with the new staff. Never really happened though. Maybe he hooks on somewhere that needs a WR.

I truly don't see it at his size. I am the exact same height and weight at 6'3/183. Obviously Thornton is gonna be more muscle, but center of gravity is huge in the NFL.

Edelman at 5'10 was 200. Antonio Brown, at 5'10, was 185 - only 2lbs heavier but 5 inches shorter. Physics is pretty fickle, and that 15-20lb of lost weight is a lot of muscle to miss. You're basically cardboard in the wind relative to most athletes in the NFL.

After listening to a lot of the Patriots staff interviews on Games With Names, Thornton really is a befuddling pick given their draft logic, even among their bad ones. They prioritized height, weight and power (the old regime, that is). This explains N'Keal. Thornton is actually very against the grain. I mean both picks suck, but just an interesting note.

Agreed palmer could sling it 70 yards off his back foot like Drake can.. but Jackson was what 22 or 23? And pretty much his career over... did he play anywhere else afterwards I'm drawing a blank.
