If no one else wants him, the Pats get him. If anyone else wants him at his current salary, they can have him.

Minnesota pays him for the rest of the year, no?

IIRC, yes, he is eligible for "severance pay" from MIN if no one signs him off waivers.

Yes if he doesn't sign with someone else. He is NOT subject to waivers with his seniority. He is a UFA right now, available for whatever he will sign for, and the acquiring team is willing to offer.

He might be ready to sign for the reduced money Belichick was orginally offering. I doubt that Moss will be considered by many teams. As it is clear that "his Heart is in San F...," er Foxboro.

All players cut after the trade deadline are subject to waivers, according to the CBA.

I'd put a claim in, mostly just for looks.

I think someone else will take him way above us.

No. But sign him as a FA for rest of season.

He clearly wants to be here. We're #1 in league so we're dead last in waiver claims. Therefore, it helps us none to put in a waiver claim.

Let him clear waivers and sign for vet min. MIN eats his contract cept for vet min. Helps out NE more than a waiver.

No. If the Pats are the only team to put in a waiver claim, then we pay his salary the rest of the season. If no team claims him and he signs with the Pats, then Minnesota pays, the Pats pay minimum salary, and Moss obviously wants to come back here.

There's no point in putting in a waiver claim since we're last in line, but after (if) he clears waivers I'd see if his attitude has changed after having seen the grass on the other side of the hill and re-sign him if it has.

I would take him back, i think hes learned his leson for at least the next few months.

WHY CAN'T WE GET PLAYERS LIKE THAT??? :bricks: :rocker:

OMG!!! In addition to in BB we trust, there would also have to be "don't F' with BB.
Hey Chilli, what were you saying about grabbing that draft pick away from Bill?

This is exactly right, so I don't quite get the poll. Unless by "you," you meant NFL teams in general and not specifically the Pats.

i have a question....

on that PI on meriweather, do u believe moss could have still caught that ball?

ive seen the replay multiple times, and i would say yes, very easily...Moss was barely moved by meri's hit

That is a REALLY good question, Alp. I wonder if had anything to do with Moss being dropped by the Vikings.

At any rate, this whole thing is quite remarkable.

Getting Moss back for vet Minimum would be a smart move....and as someone earlier mentioned..I think he'd play his butt off for his team mates and the coach.

That being said...I don't see him clearing waivers....plus, who would the Patriots waive to make room for him?

The Patriots are dead last as far as waiver position. I could see Denver doing it as Josh was OC during the 2007 season.

there seems to be a suggestion that if moss makes that catch favre doesn't get hit.

Remarkable is a good word!

What would I do? Who cares. I'm going to ask Bill Belichick what I should do about ANYTHING from now on because the dude clearly knows what to do.

Schefter says he must go on waivers. Zero chance we get him. The Jets will put in a claim if only to keep him off the pats.
