Would Edgerrin James be a likely BB pickup? [merged]

BB's mold also requires veterans to have a desire to win the big game. After Edge talked smack about Arizona and his contract situation, while they were on their SB run, why would BB even think of signing him? Plus, he reeks of Colt.

Re: Would Edgerrin James be a likely BB pickup?

According to most people on this forum you can pick-up a decent running back with just a half-hour's scouting in the Commons after dark.
It would only take 15 minutes to find a better back than James. Are you guys serious?

I think BB would be fine as long as 3 RBs are healthy. Edge is not an upgrade over any of our RBs at this point.

Re: Would Edgerrin James be a likely BB pickup?

Wow less money then looking for the big paycheck at this point. I didn't say he would take less then he was making before. Just in general take less money, ya know sign for the vet min. He has proven that he would sign for less.
What he has proven, is that no team would offer him much more than vet minimum. It wasn't really his choice.

Yeah and there are players who wont play for the vet minimum

As usual, the Pats will mix and match their running backs for another 3-4 weeks and then Morris and Taylor will come back healthy and raring to go to add depth to the running game.

And then Taylor will get hurt again as is his M.O.

I hope not though as I have always liked Fred Taylor even though he was a Jag<- blech

Re: RB situation

A couple of questions.

First, anyone have any idea on the health of Fred Taylor and Sammy Morris? I know that Taylor had surgery, but wasn't supposed to miss the rest of the season. I can't seem to find any info on him at this point.

Second, Edgerrin James just got released by Seattle. Might he be a good fit here?

Belichick had a chance to grab James before ... he has nothing left.

There are guys who won't... and there are guys that can't (find a spot on a roster for the vet minimum).

Which type is Edge'run these days?

Am I reading into your comments a bit too much, or are you implying that Belichick looks for the cheap player, but not the best player and just gets the player to fill his role "good enough"?

"with just a half-hour's scouting in the Commons after dark."- why go through all of that?
The impression I got was on game day BB just goes out to P11, stands 40 yards away from the "facilities" and yells "FREEE BEEEEER!!!" :eat1:
The first guy to get to him is our new RB. :confused2: :verycool:

....and is apparently as good if not better than Benjarvus.

Edgerrin James is not a power back--he's more of a catcher out of the backfield and used to be that home run threat--he reminds me a bit of Maroney

I thought Sammy Morris was expected back after the bye? Anyone know anything?

Re: RB situation

No, Edge is beyond done.

Bolded part, just because I am a Colt fan doesn't mean that I take cheap shots slightly, I will make my cheap shots very open
