We’ll see how this plays out. I think JC Jackson is very good. Just not elite and I think its going to take a max contract to retain him. Unfortunately the ball is in his court and he has all the leverage in negotiations. If they lose him, the secondary becomes below average, if they sign him to a max deal it’s possible they just overpayed and gave him shutdown corner pay. Will be interesting to see how both camps approach this.

Like I said Jackson is a solid CB2 and nothing more. Used to play along with an elite Gilmore he fooled everyone he was pretty good to be paid like an elite CB

I think Bill's thought process at this point now is JC is proving his worth for that contract. He's the #1 "lockdown" guy, Gilmore ain't coming back. If he's up to the task the rest of the year, he has a strong position in contract negotiations and I think Bill wouldn't really have a problem with paying him like he paid Gilmore if JC's proved it.
