Embedded video is about a defensive lineman

True wishbone has never been stopped. It simply became old-fashioned.

What about the 4 Horsemen?

What about the 4 Horsemen?

The Notre Dame box was a type of single wing formation... Was not the wishbone

and a great look at the notre dame box

The last significant use was by Ron Meyer coaching the Colts in the late 80s

NFL speed on D can usually negate the wishbone, like it negates the "wildcat" aka single wing, due to an inherent imbalance toward the run.

Defending multiple options requires some discipline, though. Georgia Tech regularly runs a triple option offense having many wishbone concepts, and even athletic teams are often not mentally up to stopping it.

The first half against the Dolphins felt like they were running the wishbone. I really don't think I can hack that for an entire game never mind season. It was boring to watch. It's fun when mixed in but using RPO/WC/Wishbone type offenses all the time is like watching grass grow.
