Will Pats regret letting Larsen go? - New England Patriots Blog - ESPN Boston

Apparently a stalwart figure already on the Bucs line and with Guard a definate question mark in NE heading into the offseason,we must wonder if Larsen was another great draft pick in 2010 ....but was released before he showed some promise.

I was a big supporter of Larsen when he was drafted; I envisioned him as a starter in 2012 taking over for Koppen as the team's center, or possibly replacing Neal at RG. With the benefit of hindsight the Pats should have IR'd Kaczur and kept Larsen on the 53-man roster. It's always very easy to look back after the fact and say what a team should have done differently.

Though his season did turn out well for him and his career appears to be off to a good start, let's not forget that he had a not-so-great training camp and did not look very good in the preseason games.

Best of luck to Larsen, I hope he has a long and successful career.

He looked to be a project in camp and pre-season so he gets waived in hopes to making the PS......Didn't happen and Tampa gets a player they probably had targeted in the draft......

Wonder if Larsen wanted to play for Tampa all along and had good interviews with them before the draft.....He dogs it in Pats camp and pre season knowing Tampa will sign him off waivers ?

Nah, that's illegal and just too far out there....

Can you tell it's off season and not much to discuss.....LOL

IMO - I think Patriots made the mistake on Larsen. I liked the pick, and Patriots did not give enough time for him to develop. Geez, how can you clip a rookie, because he did not standout in pre-season games??? Pats should have let one of the CBs/S go, rather than a newly selected rookie!

I'm sorry but jeez come on. Of all the players the pats drafted or signed as free agents rookies that they hit on, you all are crying over a project who looked crappy in preseason and training camp, who got cut, then did ok with another team.
