Whoever is the QB (if its not Tom) I expect a test through the air frequently on Samuel's area of coverage if he is ready to play in this weeks preseason game - I don't know what the status is of his strained hammy but I expect him to play a bit and hope at least one of our QBs makes him look like a rookie out there and he eats Moss's or Welker's dust as they fly by his broken coverage.

Will there be cheers or jeers on Samuel's return to Foxboro? - I am assuming mostly jeers since him saying Bill has no personality but Reid does, and some people are not happy with that statement which was a bit blatant disrespectful IMO.

Only the drunken idiots will boo Asante.

LOL I was thinking that same very thing - and I bet that happens for sure.

Asante was great here and I think jeers would not really be the way,but some feel different I am sure.

I forgot what happened when Vinatieri came back to Foxboro,Probably the same type of reception

I'm just hope our QB's throw to our players. If they're not goign to win the game they need to at least try not to lose it so blatantly.

Let's hope for good snaps to the QB.

Asante did alot of good here.

I swear, if Asante picks off Cassel (and who hasn't?) I will shut the TV off till the Giants game right at that point,I can't bear to see him gloat,I like Asante still, but that would suck royally.

I was going to say there will certainly be a booing assault of Asante, but I don't know about an air assault.

I was at that game. We booed the crap out of him. And then cheered like crazy when he missed that field goal. He got the last laugh, of course, winning his 4th Super Bowl that year.

I would give Asante some respectful applause, personally. But will the Eagles play him much? I thought his hammy was still strained?

It's the preseason. Belichick isn't going to scheme to pick on Samuel eventhough this game has the most gameplanning of all the preseason games. The Pats have too many things to be concerned with though than picking on Samuel. The team needs a strong showing after the miserable game on Sunday and too many players still playing for a job.

As for booing Samuel, I agree with the others that there is no reason to boo him. He honored his contract and decided to play elsewhere for more money. It is the NFL. That's how things work. I don't have any ill will towards Samuel.

Does anyone know approximately how many throws went towards Geno's side last week?

I meant the throws that were not deflected or intercepted - Was there any?

LOL. Be careful what you wish for.

Cassell vs. Samuel...... no thanks. BB / McDaniels are installing an offense that Casell may have a chance to execute on Friday. Expect a lot of screens , and dump offs to the weak side if Cassel can find the open man. I think he will be successful, there is just too many good players and coaches around him for him to look bad a third week in a row.

what if plax scores a TD how painful will that be?

think about this.

alot of us will be watching the giants two weeks in a row(pats preseason game 4) and thursday night opener.

can you really bear that much pain TWO weeks in a row? it's almost perverse before the pats even start the season.

a Pats fan will have had no enjoyment from the SB to the Pats/Chiefs game.

I don't fault Samuel for taking the bigger contract.

I fault him for dropping that f#$%ing INT...jkdshjkashdahsjdak argh forget it

See - That won't bother me as much as an Asante pick six to the house

The Super Bowl is the biggest event in football,The preseason is crap - It would not bother me if Plaxico had 600 yards and 10 TDs in the 4th preseason game - He did not play on this team so to me thats the difference.

I think every fan does not want to see a former player of their team make a big play against them the very next year - Even if its preseason.

Yup. Milloy's performance in Week 1 of 2003 comes to mind. Losing to the Bills sucked, but losing the way they did, to who they did (Bledsoe and Milloy), made it more painful. Thankfully the Pats had the last laugh that year.

I still think of how eerie that was that they came back and beat the Bills by the same exact score in the last week 31-0 as they were beaten in week 1

Almost as if they not only had full control of the final regular season game but were determined to NOT score less than 31 and were not going to score more than 31 and were going to do thier all out best to shut the Bills out just to let Buffalo know they remembered what happened in week 1 and sent it back to them.

Gods what a depressing start to the season that was.

It was a beautiful, beautiful thing.

I even remember the Patriots were trying to score on the final drive of Week 1, but Antowain Smith couldn't get into the end zone, stopped at the Bills 1 yard line with time expiring. And then Week 17, the Bills were driving down the field to score a touchdown and were at the Patriots 1 yard line, and then Larry Izzo intercepted the pass in the final seconds. It was incredible.

Do not see BB expending the energy or talent to try to embarass Assante.. instead see him game planning to try to find out what pieces of the puzzle fit best.

I agree, it is not like the Patriots have unleashed a punishing air attack so far this preseason. Well unless you are a Patriots fan, it has been very punishing.

The Eagles have an excellent secondary, Shepperd, Samuel, Dawkins, Brown. It will be interesting to see how much pressure they bring, I expect that since it is the 3rd pre-season and game and most of their starters will be playing that they will play their usual attacking defense.

If Brady doesn't play a pressure defense and a good secondary could lead to a long night for O'Casserrez.

I don't get the booing, Samuel was a 4th round pick, worked his butt off, won some superbowls, made a pro-bowl and then made the only decision possible when the Eagles waived $55+ million under his nose.

maybe it's just me, but i simply didnt like him because of the 'get paid' attitude. was he good? sure. is he wrong for wanting the money? not at all. he just reminded me of ty "feed my family" law. its just an attitude thing.
i prefer guys like tom, tedy, faulk. they do their jobs, and don't ***** to the media about money. they "get paid" without all the publicity.
