Will Our Running Game Be Better Than In 2020

I'm pretty excited for this offense. Jonnu Smith is wicked quick. His run after the catch is elite. They had him getting screen passes and other trick plays on the Titans. He does a ton of what a fback or hback does. He's a way better Hernandez, I think. Henry is a conventional TE. I think Bourne is very solid and has a similar game to Meyers. I'm still not a fan of the overpay for Agholar but he does seem like our best deep threat now. I wouldn't bother with having a FB on the field at this point, who would you sit? I think we're pretty deep at TE and WR now so a fb would take a spot away from a better player.

on first and ten, I have Henry split out wide. I have smith lined up tight on the end of the line. I have Meyers in the slot. I have keane at fullback and Harris at running back.

if the defense puts eight in the box, I pass it. Henry works the deep third to keep the safety high. Smith and Meyers run crossing routes and keane is the hot read. Harris picks up the corner blitz or releases behind the clear out. I do not for a minute think newton is smart enough to read the defense pre snap, but I feel he can always take off running after holding the ball too long.

If the defense leaves seven in the box, I run it down their throats. Newton is capable of executing a hand off.

I hear you. I didn't see Henry as fast as Gronk to do what Gronk did out wide. I see Smith as a super quick X factor, this guy is a lot more than just a tight end. You play Keene over Agholar and over Bourne? I'm not sure if Keene is any good yet. Maybe a lot of what you're thinking for Keene, I think all those balls should go to Jonnu Smith.

keane’s role on the field is field is very simplified.
If it is a running play, he must clear the trash for Harris.
If it is a passing play, he must be the hot read. That means he has to catch it, get up field quick, and not fumble it as he did last season.

This was the intriguing thing about Vitale before he opted out last season. Now, we can line up 2TE/FB/RB/WR, essentially goaline, then just as easily split everyone out wide into a 4WR formation with the same personnel.

Along with Cam's running ability, there should be a lot of easily identifiable mismatches.

I just get pretty excited thinking that Jonnu Smith can do everything you just outlined above. I would move Jonnu around all over the place and also have him in presnap motion a lot. I'm ready to move on from Vitale and Keene, I would keep Jonnu on the field for 80 snaps a game.

On what otherwise was a crap season with a crap QB and a crap offense in 2020 I must say watching the power and moves of Harris was refreshing and comforting to know we might have a solid RB in Foxboro for the next few years

I like it when these poster start posting like offensive coordinators. It tells me that Belichick has made some great moves this off season to date and the Pat's fans are excited so far. The expectations are running high for this coming season.

Didn't take long for the Belichick rebuild to start. In BB I put my trust.

I can only wish for more rebuild players to come soon.

As you can tell I am excited for the season to start.

Go Pats
