When someone commented on Floyd's situation wondering about giving him a 2nd chance. Parillo jumped up Mt. Pius and said he's already had 4 chances. And this really pisses me off.
Here are the facts (and correnct me if I'm wrong) Twice in HS he was stopped for drinking beer under aged. It should be noted that in this country, he was the only teenager that that ever happened to. Once in college he was stopped for a DUI in his sophomore year. He was hit with the full accountablility of his actions from both school and team law.
To my knowledge Floyd had never been in trouble with the law during the rest of his ND career and in the 5 years he was in AZ right up to the night of the DUI. So that 2 incidents over a period of 6-7 years, and it is being made to seem like the kid is out of his mind drunk on a weekly basis. Isn't that just wrong?
Now I'm not dismissing the event. I expect him to be punished to the full extent of the law. I expect him to be suspended by the leauge (IIRC 2 games is the usual for a first time deal, but given where he is now, 4 games will be likeley " )
See there's the thing: Floyd MAY have a alchohol problem. But when there are more than 6 years between incidents and not any anectodatal infomation inbetween. Doesn't the guy deserve at least the benefit of the doubt, or at least the QUESTION of the benefit of the doubt., Would YOU like to think that you'd get the question of the benefit of the doubt?
Well the fact is that wihout much but speculation to go on at all, the meidots and thus most of us fans all believe that Michael Floyd is a raving alcoholic who at worst, doesn't deserve to be on our team, or at best , needs our hopes and prayers to keep from falling back into alcololism.
