As the team was melting down Sunday, so was the Dallas Cowboys' website.

The club apparently forgot to renew its registration on the dallascowboys.com domain and the site was pulled Sunday night, replaced with a generic page indicating the address was available for purchase from Network Solutions LLC.

The team quickly renewed its registration, but it takes up to 48 hours for all Internet servers to recognize renewals.>>>>>>>>>

I'm surprised some enterprising person didn't buy it as soon as that happened, hoping to extort a big payday in exchange for selling the rights to that domain name to Jones.

Jones would likely have had his cadre of lawyers sic a cease and desist order on the new registrant for violating Federal anti-cybersquatting laws.....

Yeah, true.

But it could have been pretty funny - especially considering the timing of Philips being fired and the Cowboys getting blown out - if someone quickly put up his own website in the interim. A few Fitzy-style videos, some Bang cartoons, etc. That would have been hilarious.
