Why Moss Is More Impressive Than Jerry Rice

Why is there an obsession by some people to say our guy is better than (insert name of hall of famer)? There are at least one or two threads like this every week. And Jerry Rice of all people this time, who is the undisputed greatest receiver of all-time and second best is not even close.

I'm a huge Moss fan, but I have to agree. If Rice played on this Patriot team in his prime, he would have had 25 TD's. That's how many Randy would have without some drops and OPI penalties, Over the course of 15 years, Rice was more consistent and the greatest WR ever. But if Randy has 5 or 6 straight years like this one, I think a re-evaluation would be in order.

Jerry Rice is the greatest of all time, period ! Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Moss fan, followed him in college, wanted the Pats to draft him, etc. But Jerry Rice is simply the greatest of all time, and to say Randy Moss is better, is just simply incorrect. Stats-wise, there's no doubt in my mind that Moss belongs in the Hall of Fame with Rice.

Rice is the greatest of all time, but I think Moss is more athletic. He's the best athlete in football, easily. He's taller and faster than rice and I think he has better hands. Rice's real great attribute was his ability to keep it going late into his 30s. If Moss can keep playing well for 6 more years, he will match/surpase Rice's records.

6 more years?

I recognise Moss won't go catchless in Week 17, but if the season ended today he would need to average 130 catches, 13 TDs and 1808 yards to catch Rice's reception, receiving TD or receiving yardage marks.

Might need to keep it going a bit more than 6 years, I think...
