Why I'm not worried

Well, if nothing else, the Steelers just gave you the blueprint on what NOT to do against that offense. You can NOT over-commit to the run, especially with your "suspect" secondary. Their O-line is good, and the NE pass rush is not. So, why bother banging your head against that wall all game? Rush three, contain Tebow, and allow your safeties to roam the middle of the field.

The Steelers were committing their safeties to stop the run and often putting 10 in the box, most of the time bringing 4. They were able to contain the running game fairly well, but when the pass rush didn't get there, Tebow was able to just move around a little in the pocket and wait for pass coverage to break down.

I agree with this. I think a lot of zone will be played this game. Denver's offense is a perfect match for our team's bend don't break. If we're up they can:

1. continue to pound it, eating up precious clock

or

2. air it out, and since 1 of 4 throws will be erratic, there will be plenty of chances for INTs

Rush 3 or 4 and leave the rest of the guys in zone. Playing zone will also limit Tebow's ability to tuck and run if there's nothing there.

On offense, just limit Dumerville and Miller. Other than that there's nothing to worry about. Anybody know if Dawkins will be playing?

Hope the Patriot players aren't taking the Broncos as lightly as many fans and media are.

I've never gotten this POV. It's not our jobs to prepare for the Broncos. I just need to prepare to yell at my TV.

x2..who gives a **** if we take them lightly..we don't play the game..i think they are going to kill them

The "bad defense" is just talk? Have you watched any of our games this year? It's alot more than talk. Our hope now has to be that the return of Spikes and Chung make a difference, and that playing McCourty at safety on man defense does the trick. There is hope.
NEPO is never worried, he is Always the optimist.

Just as NFL offenses have adapted so have NFL defenses. A couple of the golden metrics of defensive efficiency, yards and time of possession, have noticeably meant less in regards to the overall outcome of games. This year I believe there was a record of teams losing the time of possession battle and still winning the game.

Time of possession has never had a particularly strong correlation with winning -- usually somewhere around %65 -- and even then, it's more likely that the TOP advantage is not a cause of winning but is caused by winning: teams with the lead play to kill clock, team that are trailing play to conserve it.

I'm not worried either. Tebow is genuinely horrible!

The 10 completions against Pitt were actually rather lucky. Several of those passes were over or under thrown, where the receiver had to make hard catches or slow down.

The TD at the end was not a good pass (it actually forced the reciever to slow), it was just an epically stupid read by the safety and a throw a high school player could make.

If the Pats torched the D for 41 last time around, I fully expect them to score 28+ and I just dont see the Denver O scoring more than they did last time.

Besides the general worry that any team can win on any given day there really is not a better match up for the Pats. The Pats should have way too much offense for Denver to contend with. Pitt was moving the ball at will and if not for a 50 yard drop/missed pass to Wallace and another huge drop by Cothery on a big 3rd down play the Steelers could have easily scored 30 points. The Pats will give up some points but I do not see how the Broncos can match them.

There is a reason as to why this team hasnt won a playoff game since 2007 and thats lousy pathetic defense. If Tebow gets the time that he got against Pittsburg, he will shred this lousy secondary all day long. This defense has maded poor QBs look like pro bowlers. This defense better step up their play.I think the 14 points are too much for a team that hasnt exactly proven anything the last couple of years in the playoffs.

while you can never feel confident with this defense , this should be a no brainer win.. there is no way we lose this game lots of things in our favor...

When we host a sat playoff home game at night we are

4-0

there are other trends ,but the bottom line the patriots are a way better team than denver... and if they do lose this game which will be back to back number 1 seeds with homefield advantage ,plus 3 straight home playoff games.. it might ( and i said MIGHT) be time to question the belichick philosphy ... but fear not , there will no need to do that come sat at 11 30...

They were prayers for the most part, no pun intended. Refering to those 4 or 5 bombs he through.. However if he continues to throw deep in Gillette we better not give up big Pass Interference Penalties...

I was going to point out last night (it was just my eyeballs and not factual #'s) that very few times this season have I seen the Patriots give up a 60 yard+ plays.. I have seen the pats give up a bunch of 20-40 yard intermediate plays but not to many 1 strike drives. And someone today ran the #'s and my eyeballs were right.

If tebow puts the ball in the air he will have to connect on 5 passes per drive if he wants to score a TD. He can throw the ball well every now and then but he is not consistent enough to sustain long drives. If he tries to do what he did against Pitt.. he is going to get picked off a few times.

Pitt showed absolutely no respect for him and rightfully so.. but they could have made adjustments throughout the game and they really **** the bed.

This game really paints a great picture of how the Denver Offense is going to conduct itself. I really think the Pats will be able to slow and befuddle this Strange Denver O.. especially after the 1st quarter..

If the Pats get off to a fast start its going to be game over early.. unfortunately for us that has not been the case for some time.

But it would be an amazing abomination if Tebow and the Bronco's came into the razer and laid an ass wooping on us.. It would be embarrassing for Bill and Tom... and they should be ashamed of themselves if they let that happen.
