I became a Pats fan when Grogan was the QB. Living in Oklahoma, they had a lot of Sooners on the team in those years and I kind of gravitated towards them because of that. I suffered thru a lot of lean years with them, but remained a fan. Didn't know if they would ever get to the top. The 1986 super bowl with the bears broke my heart. The dolphins were the Pats nemesis back then and I remember one Patriot, might have been Sam Cunningham, say before the dolphins game, they were "going down there (miami) and rip their faces off". And they did. Won 3 playoff games on the road, if I 'member right.
Then when they played the Rams they refused individual introductions, wanting to be introduced as a team. That was the 9-11 world trade center season.
To this day I consider the Pats "America's team".
Belichick has always emphasized being a team, and I rarely see one of the things that irritates me most on his team. That is one player jumping up and down like a fool after making a play and yelling "look at me! look at me! Did you see what I did?"
Really.....well, since you're that good, what say we just let the other 10 guys have a rest while you do it by yourself, I mean you are Mr. Wonderful, right?
Anyhow, this article brought this back to mind. Belichick would send this dude packing yesterday.
