Why don't any of you have patience?

Injuries, gaps on D-line and o-line. New offensive system in place. Many new players. Accordinly, the team was predicted to be bad. They were likely to take a step back before going forward. Some people can't handle that. Add in two OTs....get Baremore back and a Lawrence Guy repacement, and it's a different team. The pats were fragile/thin in some areas and key injuries in positions that were already weak sets you back. Welcome to the NFL.... what we had for 20 years was akin to a winning powerball.

EVERY team has injuries/roster shortfalls and would be different without them. Not every team has an incompetent coaching staff/front office unable to adjust toward at least being consistently competitive. And BTW, Powerball always gets won by someone, just like someone wins the Super Bowl every year.

I want to know why so many here can't give the team time to rebuild. I see so many FIRE MAYO CUT POLK in messages i don't get it.

Mayo has had 7 games that is just his. it takes time to get a system and culture settled in.
People that are complaing about the D the team lost it's best runstopper to blood clots. a leading line backer to injury and good safety to stupidity.
They have not had the same OL in any game this year. Lost the anchor and veteran presence in Andrews
Even the most optimistic fan, which i am, thought this team would cap out at like 9 wins at most and that is with everything going nearly perfect.

So maybe we can just stop with the doom and try some positivity and yes the team is bad but we have a good young QB a good Young CB a WR core that has a lot of potential. So lets try that.
Yes it’s Wolf’s and Mayos first season but let’s not forget the team hasn’t been good for a few years, so Kraft makes changes, I think fans expected to see the team improve as the season went on and we see the foundation being built.

Instead the team is getting worse as the season goes on. What is more negative than your head coach coming to the podium after each game and blaming someone for what’s happening, yesterday he decided to throw the whole team under the bus.

The whole team deserves to be thrown under the bus (other than Slye and Barringer). If the shoe fits and all that.

We hired a rookie GM, a rookie HC, rookie playcallers, have a rookie QBs and a couple rookie WRs. In the best of circumstances, this is going to take a long time to work out. I’m in for this season, but if things aren’t pointing up… I don’t know.

[Edit - @Ring 6 beat me to most of my points]
Mike it's very easy... if they were 6-1 and not 1-6 the only thing we'd have to wonder is play off seeding. They are losing and in every losing franchise everything we are witnessing is happening. Panthers, Browns, are having the same issues.. becuase of losing!

Right. Well, let me ask this question... has there been a franchise that looked like dog **** one year and without making a coaching or QB change, looked promising the next?

My question for OP and people like this: how bad does it have to get before we're allowed to be critical/negative? If they go 1-16 in YEAR FIVE of the rebuild post Brady are we still being impatient? The Patriots are the worst team in the NFL and entered the season with $50M in cap space, of course fans are going to be unhappy.

You have a good point, I cannot think of one off the top. However being that the organization parted ways with Bill recently, and then for them to make another coaching change would further the disfunction.. I can bet you Mayo himself is likely having thoughts himself of what did I sign up for. @Pape brought up a great point of a play calling change. What do you think on that?

I felt that they were competitive yesterday. If Polk doesn't fall down and miss the two-pointer, it's a one-score game late in the fourth quarter.

This is Year 1 of a rebuild. New regime. New rebuild.

Depends on what you mean by coaching change... I hate to quibble, but do you mean HC only or coordinators?

The best I came up with is the 2009-2010 Bears with Lovie Smith / Jay Cutler... They added Mike Martz as OC in 2010, replacing Ron Turner (had to look that up so thats based on what PFR is showing)... thats a pretty significant change of fortunes with a static HC/QB, hence the question at the beginning...

This assembly of neophyte coaches/execs and a roster stacked with sub-replacement level players, this organization currently resembles Instructional League baseball more than an NFL franchise.

Want on-the-job training, come to NE.
Never called a play in an NFL game, we have openings at HC and DC.
Keep getting demoted or schitt-canned, take some reps at OC....no one else wants the job.
Advocate for speedy Boney T, you get a promotion.
Father was a great GM, you are in charge now.

Your right. One thing I will say is Mayo is taking accountability. He said this morning the state of the roster is on him and Wolf. I'm totally on board with you in a change would help Drake at play caller. McAdoo, or ??.. Drake is the main reason I'm watching the rest of the season.. he already has 5 TDs in 2 games.

The BB post-Brady rebuild is over once he was fired. The rebuild started again under Mayo/Wolf.
Agreed whatever that was starts again this year. But I don't think Bill tried to rebuild at all.
