I've listened to a lot podcasts over the last several months. The draft is amazing in how football people can have wildly differing opinions at times.

Specific to Maye some people who like Maye include:

PFF - Steve and Sam
Nate Tice
Lazar
Barth
Phil Perry*

Some people low on him:

Chris Simms
Rodney Harrison
Merril Hodge
Tom Curran*

*I'm not claiming these to be expert opinions.

I'm curious who's opinions other's trust.

I don't know, but I mentioned in another thread some sort of historical record from these guys would be interesting

Like the list you have there, and then be like this is what they thought in 2020, 2021, etc. As it is, everything they say goes down the rabbit hole after every draft and no one remembers what anybody said

Out of those groups? The first one 100%.

Rodney, Simms and Hodge are all talking heads. Barth is a draft guy, Lazar knows his X’s and O’s.

I just watched Nate Tice on PFF today and he's very high on Maye and he can't fathom where all the hate is coming from.

He gives countless examples of how his processing and playmaking are amazing for a player his age.

The NC offensive system was terrible in 2023 and Maye had to create everything on his own. He said that system lacked the structure of a west coast system with timing throws.

Agrees his footwork is not good right now, but that only reinforces how good Maye could be with better mechanics.

Said he's a line drive thrower and when he misses, he can miss by a lot, which is a trait similar to Herbert.

Barth and Lazar think it's laughable that JJ is in the same conversation as Maye.

Greg Bedard, Mike Reiss and Albert Breer should be on your list.
