Maybe we can sign a colt O-lineman or two and screw the colts

Ummm....after watching the Steelers run through them like a revolving door, I'm not sure I want any Colt's O-Linemen.

that had nothing to do with the quality of the oline, it was all game scheme and coaching. you fell for Peyton's excuse.

I think the Pats will take a look at Mike Green safety with the Chicago Bears.

mike green is a free saftey, not sure if it is our best interest because wilson is fine.

How about Adam Archuleta? He would probably come with a high price tag, though. And we should definitely try to resign Givens. And when you look at our WRs, don't forget "Bam" Childress. He has shown some promise and versatility. He should be given a chance to make the roster.

great point on Bambam. The kid worked so hard this year and will get his shot. i think he is the next troy brown. Dont forget about PK Sam either. He should have one shot left to prove his worth.

How about this thought. Spend the biggest money on Reggie Wayne or Edgerrin James.
If it is Edgerrin James then: They release Corey Dillon, and do some other financial work.

I know I must be missing something, because I think E. James is overrated. He's like Magic Johnson --- universally declared a star, yet when we face him it doesn't feel like he's killing us.

Again, it wasn't as much his fault. The offensive line was horrible, and I've seen the tape to back it up. It's also tough to go through the 2 or 3 injuries he had this season.

None of it is really his fault. It's just a fact, when RBs get to be his age they start breaking down physically. Think about how many times Corey has carried the ball in his career. Now go run full speed into a brick wall. Think that doesn't wear a guy down?

He's always struck me as someone who should be looked at very closely. I think if Rodney shows any signs of lowered production because of his injury, then Adam has Patriot written all over him. Even if his money would be a bit of a sting to the wallet.

On the corner back issue, I wouldnt be too hasty there. Ellis Hobbs will be all the better for his first year. He was probablly the league's best rookie corner this year. A second year Ellis could be a very very valuable player. I can see him hanging on to his starting spot.

And what about Chad Scott? I think he was beginning to show his worth when he got injured. He has value. And I think Gay, Hobbs, Samuel and Scott is a pretty good corner group.

As for the O-Line. Don't forget we'll probably have Matt Light and Dan Koppen back (provided Dan doesn't up sticks). That's some pretty fantastic reinforcements don't you think?

I don't think Corey will have another 1600 yd season, but I do think he'll do plenty to take the pressure off Tom. Couple him with a fast, outside rookie who eases his way in this coming year, and we have a quality running game back on our hands.

We will be in the mix again next year, and I can't wait for the season to roll around.

Oh, and I think going for Eric Moulds (if Givens leaves) would be a great idea.

Corey Dillon will be fine for another year. I agree with those questioning the knee-jerkers. The guy was nicked up - because he was old? Maybe, but by no means definitely. I actually thought he ran real tough against Denver. The guy merits at LEAST another year. That's not to say we shouldn't draft his replacement this year - I believe we should - but it's a bit impatient to cut him loose, and cap-wise, prohibitive.
corey is signed thru 2009, with a $3m bonus scheduled to be paid during Year 5 of the Contract. the deal the nflpa agreed on the current contract is that teams can walk away from player cptracts by siimply releasing the player.
so ,if you void an entire contract by sismply releassing a player, the dontract disappears. the team is till liable for thhe cap money on the contract. fruth this true, then for corey, there's basically no cap hit now. god. a contract in the nfl means NOTHING.
how/why the nflpa agreed to thiis is beyond me.

My vote goes to Julian Peterson. He would be even better with more talent around him. He would be pricey, but they can work some cap magic. He and Seymour would be the cornerstone of the D for the next 5-8 years. He would also add needed youth to the LB corps.

Sf will likely franchise him, but he would definitely seem like a BB / Pioli target.
