Who Will Be the Patriots

Steve Balestrieri

Butler has developed into one of the best corners in the game. He has a short-term memory, is very physical, doesn

Even if Butler leaves then there are a lot of pieces in the secondary, I dont know if they are useful pieces but there are a lot of them.

I say Cyrus Jones.

Gilmore and Butler Start.

Cyrus in the Slot.

Rowe acting as a specialist for specific match ups.

I like Rowe but I've heard people suggest he can start should Butler be traded. That scares me. Personally I think he best used in specific situations/matchups.

I'm not sure Cyrus will ever recover from last year's debacle but hopefully he can earn a roll.

If Cyrus can't maybe Jonathon Jones can. But between 2 Jones' and Rowe plus our extra safety and I think we are more than fine at nickle and dime. If Butler goes we need one of the 3 to step up big though.

I'm still absolutely begging to see Gilmore and Butler be a duo. I don't care if it's just for one year.
I agree. I just wonder if that's actually what will happen.

Yeah, the title is weird.
Some characters/symbols in Microsoft Word don't get recognized by Wordpress (the application for publishing blogs on this site) when it creates a corresponding thread. To make matters worse once that happens Wordpress doesn't publish anything that follows in the title.

While I am tempted to leave the title as is just to see where this thread goes, I'll fix it.

I would much rather it be for the next four years or so!

Remember the Safety position going into 03 with Milloy and Rodney that never happened? That's what it would remind me of.

Not really. Rodney and Milloy played the same position-ss. Milloy was over-the-hill at that point while Rodney was in his prime. I remember being one of the few here who was 100% in agreement with BB for dumping milloy.

Really no comparison to now- both Malcolm and Gilmore are young players who haven't yet reached their peaks. They also have slightly different skill sets, though they're both #1 cbs. They would complement each other extremely well. I also think they'd push each other to become even better. Along with Rowe and our superb 3 man rotation at safety, this would handsdown be the best secondary in the NFL.

Cyrus. Still worried about his returning, but hoping he can contribute on D.

Cyrus Jones says drafted for many reasons, including being able to play slot corner. He has the skill set, but the jury is still obviously out on him, especially after that difficult rookie season. I'm hoping he can rebound, but confidence is a tricky thing. Some players are never quite the same when it leaves... the list is a bit long.
