Great minds....I said Russell will be a bust, and I had Maroney as NE's pick before the draft, too.

I said no way they pick Chad Jackson in the 1st round, does that count for anything? :bricks:

I thought they would pick Maroney, but I had Jackson second on my list, then Bobby Carpenter, then Richard Marshall. I was surprised when they got both of the guy's I wanted them to draft, especially since some draft experts said Jackson was going 14th overall. What's funny is when I tried to ask different draft experts about Maroney, Marshall, Carpenter, and Jackson they kept plugging DeAngelo Williams, Manny Lawson, Lendale White, or Joseph Addai for NE.

Penn State has a long history of NFL busts.

What a load of crap.

I spent the entire offseason a couple years ago defending Larry Johnson against the idea that he was the next Curtis Enis and Ki-jana Carter, and a lot of otherwise smart football fans were willing to pass him up.

Who thinks, now, that he would have been a bad pick for us at #19 in 2003 (this is the pick that became Kyle Boller)? Remember, at the time, our backfield was completely empty, headlined by Kevin Faulk. We ended up spending a 2nd rounder to get Dillon onto the team. Even in retrospect, taking LJ with that pick would have been a coup.

Penn State has produced some busts, and some boom. But name me a school that hasn't.

That trade helped the Patriots get Vince Wilfork, Eugene Wilson, and Dan Klecko.

whoever is trying to say LaVar is bad..think again. He was a very good LB with skins before injuries..he was a top 10 LB few years back

Arrington roamed a lot but he was considered one of the better LB's in the league for awhile, so you are correct. It was injuries and the coaching change in Washington that sidelined his career.

Arrington's first four seasons in the league:

334 tackles, 21.5 sacks, 3 INT's, 1TD, 28 PD's

exactly and then injuries..and gregg williams wanted to change LaVar..LaVar got unhappy and it got uglier

Who will be the biggest bust? Let's ask Brady Quinn.

I know the onion report was joking around with that one. To be honest with everyone I think Russel will be the bust and Quinn will be the next good Qb. I know many think it will be Quinn but I just love the numbers I've seen from Quinn over the past couple of seasons with Weiss. 69 TD's 14 ints. A nice passer rating around 150. That's with everyone trying to stop him specifically,a so so run game and a lousy defense. Imo Quinn will be two times the pro Russel will be and nothing will change the opinion unless Russel proves me wrong.

I'm on the Jamarcus Russel for one of the all-time (slighty lesser bust than Ryan Leaf, but not as good as Rick Mier)busts.

I watch about three SEC games a week, and this kid had NEVER, EVER made me think that he was even an NFL prospect, let alone the top pick in the draft. He has all the signs of a great bust:
surrounded by superior talent at both WR and RB
came out of nowhere, had one big game against a horrible defense.

I just do not see what everone else does, he is enourmous, has a tremendous arm, but lacks accuracy, and lord knows what is going to happen to him once NFL defenses start running different fronts and schemes at him.

Now, I have to save this somewhere, where I should have saved my Lawrence Maroney will be the Pats back of the future post from last year, so that if it comes true I can boast, or destroy it, if he becomes the second coming of Bart Starr.

Wow another good call FreeTedWilliams. Spot on as the Brits say.

Atleast i was right about Russel being a bust and Quinn being twice the pro Jamarcus was. Problem is, Quinn still sucks and he was twice the pro.
