The one time Mac played “good” the Pats offense put up the most points and nearly the most yards Buffalo’s defense allowed all season.

Douglas, Bourne, Henry, Gesicki, Rhamondre, Zeke, Parker, Juju... this team has playmakers, but their QB sucks.

A top tier QB has this offense ranked in the top ten in points and yards… instead we have one of the worst starting QB’s in the NFL.

Problem with inserting Zappe, even still, its that you can't go back to Mac. It's gonna kill his confidence and might cause even more locker room turmoil

I pointed out how the same offense put up the highest point total on the year against the Bills, a team that just shellacked the Dolphins and you pivoted because you had no answers. They had enough “weapons” last week but not this one… the answer is pretty simple, Mac sucks, he’s inconsistent and when he’s good he’s still average.

I was talking about that game in particular. Jones had a C game. He had a few good moments and some bad ones. The defense had an F game. Therefore the defense ought to get more blame for Sunday.

I would hope we all understand the offense doesn't have enough weapons and Jones isn't good enough to compensate for that.

Cool so evidence you don't like doesn't count as evidence. Got it. Or maybe you missed the second half of the Bears game where Zappy smurf got a dozen balls batted down and the Bears were apparently quoted saying they don't think much of him as a QB. Must have also missed all preseason and all camp where he showed he couldn't handle running an NFL level offense. Or the senior bowl of his draft year which probably took him off the draft board for every other team except ours for some reason.

"NCAA record" lol. Teams still passed on him so that "accomplishment" is worthless. If we didn't take him in the 4th round he would have very likely been there as a UDFA. So BFD about that NCAA record. He sucks and doesn't belong in the league. The rest of the league could have had him for free in August but they all said no thanks. Logically it's reasonable to conclude they agree with me. The end.

I don't need to see Zappe (or Grier) play out the string or audition to start. The team learns nothing for 2024 from that. If there's someone out there better than Mac that will help the coaching staff get a good look at the rest of the offense then great let's get him and sit or trade Mac and audition the new guy for 2024. Until then Mac is the best QB on this team right now. Fact.

The little sample size we have of Zappe is 2-0 and 100+ QB Rating. Grier started one game behind the worst offensive line in the NFL at the very end of a losing season.

Read my post again... the evidence played out on the field. I'm not at practices but if BB cut Zappe after watching him in practices it's not a stretch to think he doesn't have what it takes now or in the future.

Zappe had a dreadful camp and preseason and every team in the league said no when they could have had him for free. Sounds to me like that 2-0 and 100+ rating means nothing to them and to Bill so why would it mean anything to anyone else? Don't see why we should give them the benefit of the doubt now that maybe they'll show something? No thanks. Play Mac, he's the best QB on this team and the guy who gives the coaches the best chance to look at the whole offense for 2024. Saying Mac is the best QB on the team isn't saying he's great it's saying the alternatives aren't good.

Mac was “good” for two thirds of a season in 2021 then regressed. We wrote it off as the rookie wall.

He didn’t improve the very next season, he was in danger of being benched before he got hurt against the Ravens and getting hurt saved his butt.

Zappe came in the played near flawlessly as a starter and went 2-0. I said then BB should stay with the hot hand and he should have. But Mac got his job back after hearing Gillette chant Zappe’s name and stopped turning the ball over. He still was really average and eventually became turnover prone to end the season.

Mac was his average self for the first two games this season, then fell off a cliff. The entire football watching world besides Dan Orlovsky and Mac truthers pointed this out.

When has Mac been great, not merely average or good but great? He’s been bad a lot more than he’s been great. He hasn’t developed or improved, he’s the same player he was as a rookie.

Mac is why they’re losing, there’s no downside. That’s like saying you can’t bench or trade N’Keal Harry, he’ll lose his confidence.
