Who helps a young good QB to develop better? A defensive minded coach or an offensive minded coach?

How about a good defense to practice against (not just a coach)?

I do think the BEST coach for young QBs are the ones who are patient and are teachers. However, with the exception of Walsh w/ Montana and Reeves and Elway, history shows that the greatest coaches who also had the greatest QBs were defensive coaches.

Chuck Noll- Defense
Shula- Defense
Landry- Defense
Walsh- Offense
BB- Defense
Mora/Dungy- Defense
Reeves-Offense

Good post.
I think as a young and coming QB, you need a good defensive minded coach to help you study to figure out defenses. I was watching BB's sound FX and I noticed the interactions he was having with Cassel and this question came to mind. I did a small research and was about to post something like what you just posted. Yours is more concise and to the point.

To coach Defense you need to understand Offense and vice versa. Too much is made of Defensive/Offensive mindedness in coaches. They may prefer or feel more comfortable in one arena but they all understand both.
