I started this thread before the Steelers game:

http://www.patsfans.com/new-england-patriots/messageboard/showpost.php?p=669121&postcount=1

And I am getting the same feeling again. Everyone says this is going to be a battle, Jags are tough, smashmouth, blah blah blah (throw in some other keywords & cliches, confident, coc*y, nothing to lose, etc.)

When it comes down to our guys against theirs, we have a huge advantage in talent, and a huge advantage in scheme. Our strengths picks on their weakness (our passing attack against their passing defense) and their strength goes up against one of our strengths (run offense v. run D, BB will not let them run against us).

I see this game looking very similar to the Steelers game. It might be close for about a quarter, but they can't stop us from scoring, and they won't put up enough points against our D to stay in it.

EDIT: Meant to put a poll in here! Feel free to give a clear YES or NO at the top of your post to give an informal polling.

I could be very wrong, but the Jags do not scare me at all.

Indy is our challenge -- and it will be a fight to the end.

WE are everyones worst nightmare.

I'm super excited about the game this weekend, but not jittery at all. I have nevere seen a Patriots team that was THIS good.

If the Jags win, they will have to play a perfect game along with getting a lot of the breaks.

Jags almost lost to the Steelers last week who played very poorly. The Pats will not play nearly as poorly as Pittsburgh did, have superior coaching, quarterback, and home field advantage. I'm as cautious as they come, I really am, I'm not worried about this week. I am very confident the Pats will kill the Jags (my definition of kill = 14 points or more).

(All this confidence makes me worry.)

me.

pats are the team nobody wanted to face in the playoffs.

I do! I do! I do!

After seeing today's injury report I'm kinda concerned. Hopefully its not accurate.

I say we win big.
We gear up to stop the run, and then what?
Garrard beats us through the air? Not likely.
Brady throws 4 td's.
Pats D-line dominates.

If the don't it will be one of the biggest choke jobs, as you people say, evah.

I'm feeling oddly confident too. And even the opposing fans agree that the only way the Pats can lose this one is by a massive choke job.

When you are 16-0, having beaten the best playoff teams on the road, with the league MVP at the controls, and the best brains strategizing, unbridled fanaticism is a sensible approach.

My guess is that this game will be similar to the Colts game and Cowboys game. They will come out swinging the first half, keeping it fairly close. Second half, Pats simply outplay them, lots of dink and dunk from Brady ending in a blowout, IMO.

After hearing all of this Jaguar hype, I'll be disappointed if we don't kill them.

Pats cruised through the Buffalo/Philly/Baltimore night game portion of their schedule, then cranked it up a notch for Pittsburgh. The Pats know how to turn it up a notch and will Saturday.

Regards,
Chris

I'm expecting a proper massacre. 28-3 or something at the half. Their D simply does not matchup with us. If they rush 4 and drop 7, Brady will kill them. All it will take it two quick strikes and this game is in the books.

That's a very illogical way to look at it IMO. The Pats "almost lost" to the Ravens, too. And they are a lot worse than the Steelers. The important thing is that both teams pulled it out in the end. Bad games happen. That's football. It's how you come back from them.

You need a fifth option ...... the referees!
