Where is the lose-lose option scenario.

1. Brady throws for 4000yds 30 TD but the Bucs aren't good and miss the playoffs.

2. Belichick has a great defense, mediocre offense, and loses in the divisional round, and subsequent drafts continue to suck relying on McDaniels more

Not sure who wins, but Bill has way more at risk. If all the reporting is true, Bill is the reason Brady didn't retire a Patriot. If Bill goes out there and fields bad teams for multiple years, then we're about to watch a man get ripped apart limb by limb from the media and fans.

May the odds be in your favor, Bill

Yep. Even if we take away the 49 points off pick-sixes and all 44 points from other drives that started with an interception, the no-INT Bucs still would have been an average points defense last season.

And I don’t think anybody is expecting them to allow zero points off Brady interceptions.

It's not that simple. All those turnovers don't JUST give the opposing offense more scoring chances. They skew time of possession, which inevitably means the defense is gassed down the stretch. They skew field position, which leaves the defense not just defending more often, but defending more short fields. The Bucs were #5 in defensive DVOA, #5 in third down defense % and #6 in red zone defense %... but % don't matter if multiply it by a huge number because your offense keeps gifting the opposing offense posessions.
