This poll assumes Waters is done,as it looks bleak so he is added on.

waters.

1. Brady requires to step up to beat the rush.
2. We'll lose some push in the run game.
3. All 4 centers last year benefited from waters' experience.
4. He was the only guy playing without injury on the line, as far as I know.
5. There must be but I cannot think of a single instance of waters giving up a sack that was a result of mental error.
6. He covered up some mistakes by other linemen.

Matt Light. I miss him already.

If I could've voted for 2, I would've voted for both Light & Waters.
I'm bracing for a very rude awakening on Sunday.

Matt Light and it shouldn't be close.

Interesting choices. I see the summary of the contenders as:

Solder + Seabass is worse than last years tackles, but not a big drop (pray no injuries to these two guys, no one wants to see Cannon on the field after this pre-season)

Wendell is much worse than Waters (or you could say Wendell (C)+Connolly(G) is much worse than Connolly(C)+Waters(G)). But few people consider the interior of the offensive line to be a critical spot on the team.

TBD if Chandler Jones is a drop from Carter, probably is worse this year but CJ should have his moments

Which leaves BJGE. As far as I am concerned, he is replaced on the roster by Bolden. How can that be considered anything but an enormous drop? Vareen is already injured and Ridley still has questions about ball security, so it is not like we don't need another reliable 1st/2nd down option at RB.

-------------------------------------------------

If everyone on the current 53 plays to their best (within reasonable expectations), Waters is the biggest loss.

If injuries hit the wrong players, Light will probably be the biggest loss.

If our young RBs play exactly like they did last year (and not at much higher level we are hoping/expecting), it will be BJGE.

So, I voted BJGE, since the domino effect of a rushing game that a defense doesn't respect, coupled with a shaky line, would mean that Brady would get hammered.

Ridley is the key to keeping Brady from getting murdered tomorrow.

If Ridley is going to play well for just a few games,we need him to play well early so that we can run the ball more and keep Brady safer.

Our OL is under construction and defenses simply don't respect our running game and haven't since Dillon left.....we need more than ever to change that line of thinking THIS year, because Brady absolutely needs help from the guys BEHIND him to contribute big time.

I'll never understand negative-reaching threads like this. :bricks:

My very first thought was Matt Light due to the many years that Brady has faith in him protecting his blindside and that has to be a comfort but we did draft Solder and he has all the tools to be a very successful LT so I can't vote ML despite my belief that he is a huge loss. Overall I am most concerned about the OL so my next thought was Waters however I have a great deal of faith in Scar so that leaves me moving on to Carter.

Chandler Jones looks like a beast and I am very excited to see what he can do but I think people forget that at the beginning of last year, Carter looked like our defensive MVP. 10 sacks is nothing to sneeze at, especially when it came with excellent run support and being a vetern leader in the clubhouse. "Yes but can he rush the passer" is a running joke here on the board and for the first time in a number of years we had a legit pass rushing threat in Carter. Long term Jones obviously looks better and it doesn't break my heart that Carter is not back but for at least this year I think it will be a downgrade in production that will be missed.
