i like them all so far and a good draft and good health will seal the deal

I vote for none. The FA signing that gets me most excited is the next one. Especially if its JT

I have to go with the Taylor signing. While the Pats running game was ranked pretty well last year, they still didn't have anyone that opposing teams needed to respect. I think the Taylor signing is going to free up Moss and Welker a little more because Freddy demands that respect. Plus, he's a better blocker than any other back currently on the team.

"excites" sounds kinda, um, festive.

i think Bodden has the biggest upside tho, assuming he's not 1 & done.

Leigh Bodden has the potential to be the biggest steal of this free agent class for the Patriots.

I say there will only be one Taylor signing this season and thats Fred since hes already here,I say Jason will go elsewhere

With that being said,I think Fred will be the best aquisition this offseason as we need someone with some toughness in the RB spot besides Faulk and Morris,Something I think Maroney may never present in the NFL.

First pick: Taylor hes a proven workhorse RB who will help make other teams fear our offense even more. Mark my words this backfield will be better than last years even with loosing Jordan and Evans.

Second: Springs he is a solid veteran DB who can still play physically and brings versatility play at CB or S.

Third: Bodden don't get me wrong I love this guy I think hes got the tools but I'm sorry if I'm not on the OMG MVP PROBOWL Bodden bandwagon quite yet all

Fourth: Baker finally a really decent blocking TE who has been in the league for a while so now I'm not as concerned if Watson misses a game and brings the ability to utilize the 2TE set more often.

Fifth: Galloway I really like this guy he can stretch the field however my question is can he stay healthy after all hes 37 and still playing a high level but I have my doubts that he can make it through a full season and if not could possibly be cut.

Sixth: Banta-Cain hes going to have to battle for a roster spot at OLB (possibly) but he knows the defense and if he isn't cut his ability to generate a pass rush will undoubtedly win me over.

"Fifth: Galloway I really like this guy he can stretch the field however my question is can he stay healthy after all hes 37 and still playing a high level but I have my doubts that he can make it through a full season and if not could possibly be cut."

I second this opinion.....at this point, Galloway is a wild card.......his age and recent injury problems could be an issue......He has had TREMENDOUS skill and should be able to still stretch the field if he can stay healthy.....we shall see.....

Should Johnson be added to the poll now?

They're all very good additions who are going to make a difference. But if I had to vote for one, I'd probably vote for Springs -- mainly because he's got a three-year deal. And if he loses another step, they can move him to safety in a couple of years, a la Rod Woodson. So I think they're going to get the most bang for their buck out of Springs.

i went for Bodden

Whoever voted for TBC is either joking or nuts. The FA acquisition that excites me the most is Julius Peppers. Yes, I'm in denial. No but really, both Springs and Bodden excite me the most because their both 6'0 or taller and very physical.

I would vote Bodden if someone gave me this list and said "pick just one of these players to play for the Pats in 2009". Bodden was a necessity and Springs was the "cherry on the top". Just like Morris, Maroney and BJBE are good for a committee of running backs, but Fred Taylor gives it that extra spice. But I still have to campaign for Galloway; when it comes to "cherries on top", he has to be the biggest of the group because the Pats get a #2 to play the #3 position.

which free agent excites me the most? the next one... the next one...

and by that i mean taylor for olb

Here is my list in order:

1. Joey Galloway - It is going to be great having another deep threat receiver to stretch the field on the other side of Moss. This should be a better signing than the Stallworth signing in 2007, providing all injuries are healed by the time the season starts.

2. Leigh Bodden - It's going to be great having him, Springs, Hobbs, Wheatley, and Wilhite available next year. Bodden looked great in Cleveland's defense a couple of years ago. Let's see what he can do under BB.

3. Fred Taylor - Lamont Jordan departed so we needed a smashmouth, downhill style of runner to pound it between the tackles this season. I still belive Fred Taylor has a couple of more solid years in him and goes great in our offense. He can also mentor Mr. Maroney who, by the way, is still here.

4. Chris Baker - Baker is a pretty good blocker and is also a threat to catch the ball. The only question is: does his signing signal the end for either Watson or Thomas? I hope that isn't the case because Baker and Watson will be a pretty good 1-2 combo at the tight end position.

5. Shawn Springs - Ahhh. Finally a corner over 6'0". When T.O. came to town, I was instantly glad we signed Springs. He has been the anti-T.O. for the last few years. Let's just hope age doesn't catch up with him this season. If he can shut down Owens, he can shut down any receiver in the league.

6. TBC - I'm not really excited about TBC's return but it doesn't make me scratch my head either. He should improve the pass rush at the very least. Put me in as a "meh" for this one. Nevertheless, a stellar offseason for our beloved Pats. Here's to 4 in 44.

Julius Peppers, of course.

Bodden and Springs are the most exciting for me.:singing: Words can't express the joy I feel knowing that Hobbs won't be starting anymore.:woot:

springs and bodden man, lol...the cb's

our weakest part of last season

Bodden dude,he is my pick.We are talking about this season.Ready Freddy comes a close 2nd.Than there is the draft

Fred Taylor is what I was hoping Maroney would be:
YouTube - Fred Taylor Aloha

He gets hurt too often, but when he plays there is almost no one better. An amazing combo of speed, moves, vision, and strength.

After watching that video, I got to give a shout out to Fred Taylor. In fact, this guy is going to pull a Corey Dillon by putting everything on the line and rush his way to his 1st pro bowl. Their play is very similar, but, Taylor can cut and accelerate a lot faster. With the Pats having so many weapons on offense, Taylor is going to make defenses look like Swiss cheese. Oh yeah, they also have another bulldozer in Sammy Morris, Mr. Clutch in Kevin Faulk and Laurence Maroney. The Pats running backs are plain sick!
