I can't be more excited about our upcoming OL prospects.
Its almost ironic that our 2 best OLmen this season are both the oldest. And what I find even more exciting is that both Light and Waters show NONE of the slow erosion you often see in fading offensive linemen. There is NO reason that one would expect either of them not to play at the same high level next year as they did in this one. Given what's behind them, that's scary.
So WITHOUT adding a single new player plus not re-signing Koppen - The Pats can start 3 quality starters all of whom have been to mulitple pro bowls (Light, Mankins, Waters,) ade Three young guys, who have just started to show what they can do in Volmer, Solder and Cannon
And then perhaps the biggest surprise.....quality and depth at C. Don't forget we all thought we were both weak and thin at C before the season. Now he have found out that we can go 4 deep at the position and STILL play more than adequately at the position. Clearly we were wrong
BOTTOM LINE - This is an OL that can go 8 deep and not have a single fan note any concern about how well this OL will perform on Sunday, I don't think of any other OL in the league that could claim that kind of standard
Kind of funny when you think about it on both ends of the "can you imagine" scale.
Can you imagine where we'd be without MaTT Light this year, and as well as "can you imagine" where'd be without Nate Solder. You always figured you have to say one of them, but not BOTH.
