Where Are We On The Cap?

As we continue to make transactions, it might be interesting to know the cap effect. Where are we? For example, I believe that Hicks is a much higher cap hit that Hooman. Of course, bonus money does not change hands, only salary.

Actually, Hicks and Hooman contracts are pretty similar regarding cap hit.

Their cap numbers were close with their old teams, but I believe that Hicks carries a higher salary and Hooman more dead money. Net cap effect of +$730,000 or so?

I'm a bit confused. I thought that we were at $3.3M a week or so ago. As hatcheck said, Hicks cost us more cap room than was saved by Hooman. Also, we've added Bostic. As you say, we're a player light. In any case, I'm sure that Miguel will update his pages when the smoke clears.

Since it is so "old" (old = relative! is hard to keep up at the pace BB moves) .....
a number of cut guys are still listed: Name [miguel's cap "hit / savings " if cut or traded data ]
Hooman [ 480k / 515k ]
Tompkins k. [0/0]
Cadet. [ 32k / 125k ]
Martin e. (Lb). [ 10K / 0 ]
Thornton k. [ 75k / 0 ]

And a number of new guys are not listed:

So it appears like from the $3.32M available before all the cuts & trades, it would be something like $3.8M if those cuts had happened before game 1 (I have no clue how much of those cap savings are still true after they play a game) and without adding in the hits from the new guys (whose contracts I also have no clue about). All three being on rookie contracts, you would think they aren't going to displace much on the bottom end of the 51, but ??? That is where you need Miguel.

As patchick says, we should lose about $730K in the trade of Hooman for Hicks.
