When Will Players Return?

Butler attending the start of practice is a positive sign. He is not on IR and not lost for the year. Even if he misses a few weeks to heal, at least he will be back to join Guy, Allen and Cowart. I do not think we will trade for a DT if we have all 4 guys ready to go in early November. If Uche and Jennings are coming along, I don't think we need a LB because Phillips and Dugger play so much. A stud DE at the trade deadline would be great.

A DE would indeed be great - and very much needed, but I still think we also need a 0/1-tech DT & At Least one more LB...

Don't get greedy. Which is the biggest weakness? What happened to Winovich against Denver? Snap count went way down.

We play the nickel as our base now, and the dime a lot. We do not need a LB as much as we need a DE that can set the edge and pass rush. Not sure where we find such a player, but if we consider the greatest need between LB, DT and DE, DE is the greatest need IMO.

It is easy to wish for everything. No team has everything. IMO we need a top flight DE and our defense is "good enough".

Agreed. And we have always been at the disadvantage of paying a "round higher" because we were at the end of each round, but compared to the Ravens this year we easily could have made the trade for a 3rd rounder that the Ravens paid. Our 2021 3rd round pick looks more juicy than the Ravens 3rd round pick. BB had a chance to make the trade - not sure why he did not like the player.

I prefer guys that have been in the league so we know what we are getting. It is even worth paying a bit more for experience and reduced risk. That obviously did not work with Sanu.

Yes, but would you pay him? I wouldn't.

But the Pats do need a top flight DE and upgrade at DT/NT. This D reminds me of a better version of the Rex Ryan Jets D: good secondary, terrible front 7.
