That's a lot of lost hours over the years. Enough to support a diagnosis of insomnia.

True. Thank god I lived in Washington DC during the early- to mid-90s. The Pats were terrible part of that time, but at least no one down there cared or talked about them.

Early 70's. I wandered into the den during a family function where my dad and a bunch of my uncles were watching the Pats beat up on the Colts. I had about 10 seconds of thinking that my new favorite team was the best in the world until I found out what their season record was. They were like 2-10 and I don't think the Colts had won a game at that point.

I wonder if would have dropped them right there if I had known it'd be 25+ years before they reached the top

Yes, no mention of the Ben Dreith debacle please.
Although I was a day 1 Pats fan, my primary team in the 60s was the Bill Russell Celtics. For precisely that reason I admire the Belichick Brady era.
And the Larry Bird (and McHale, Parish, DJ, etc.) Celtics of the 80s. The Dave Cowens Celtics of the 70s weren't too bad either. Bird is the only player I ever started feeling really bad about, that he would have to retire someday, about two years before he did. I couldn't imagine Celtics basketball without him. Unfortunately, I was right. I don't want to think about Tom yet.
