what this tells me is the Patriots have no leadership in the locker room. You think this is the first time players and coaches are at each others throats? In previous years (watch Tom Brady's Man in the Arena) there has always been a group of leaders on the roster and they self regulated. It has been mentioned before that some of us think there is a lack of leadership on this team.

Why would that be true? Slater is still there. McCourty is still there. Hightower is still there. That's a pretty strong core right there.

I am not sure what to make of it. What is apparent, is the team lacked focus and energy these past 2 games. Not sure what happened during the bye but something is off for sure. I also think that this time of year, most teams are looking to their QB to lead the way and galvanize the locker room as the games get bigger and bigger. Mac just isn't that guy yet and the Pats are missing that.

The better teams are those that can balance their strengths with their weaknesses like the Chiefs, Packers, Cowboys, Bucs, Cards and Rams. Trolls are the posters who don’t really have an interest in discussing the topics relevant to the forums they post in, they simply talk sh.t to try and piss people off and get reactions, Venecol is a very good example of this. Then there are people who believe that they are the only voice that matters, and they have agendas that they just hammer on post after post, thread after thread, day after day, week after week, month after month, etc… they are just narcissistic @ssholes, DropKickFlutie is the perfect example of this. I don’t agree with your position on Slater but that in no way qualifies you for either of those categories. Now, if you go into a thread about the running backs, and go off about Slater, and then go into a thread about the defensive line and keep going on about Slater, and keep doing it in every possible thread, while simultaneously sh.tting all over anyone who tells you to keep the Slater agenda to threads about Special Teams or Captains, and keep doing it endlessly then you will qualify as a narcissistic @sshole, like DropKickFlutie. And if you just pop up to talk sh.t with no real interest talking about the topics at hand, and only post to see if you can piss off the people posting there then that will qualify you as a troll, like Venecol. Other than that you are just someone posting what they think, whether others agree with you or not there is nothing wrong with that.

Slater is a leader because of his production and his professionalism. He does his job at a high level and does it consistently, and is regarded as one of the best at what he does year in year out. In football a receiver may only have four or five catches a game, but if he does it consistently and those plays help them win then they are important to team success. The same goes for many players, Kevin Faulk was a great example of this, he didn’t get a lot of touches but the ones he got mattered greatly, and helped them to many wins. The same can be said of James White. These players also lead on the practice field, in the weight room, and in the film room, snd as such they gain the respect that leaders earn. On the other hand you can have a player who is unbelievably talented but only cares about themself, or simply doesn’t have any capacity to lead, like an Antonio Brown, who can make big plays when available, but who doesn’t inspire anyone else to work harder or play better, and they never get respected as leaders because they are only hyper focused upon themselves, and don’t really care about the team or it’s success. A leader doesn’t have to be the center of attention, they just need to reflect the character and qualities that will matter most to those around them to achieve the success as a group focused on a team goal.
