What is Boutte’s trade value?

Whatever it is its not worth trading him unless we’re completely ripping someone off. Boutte is still ascending, not a smart idea imo to trade someone who isn’t at their peak value.

If someone is going it should be pop, he hasn’t progressed since year 1. He is talented though and can probably fetch a lower round pick or be thrown in the aj brown trade.

Don’t you think Boutte had an optimal situation last year, if he was going to explode it would’ve happened already. He’s under 6 feet, he runs a 4.5 forty… he’s not ascending much more.

He's 23 and just came off what could be considered a breakout season.

Prior to the hamstring injury he was on pace for a bigger year than the final #s show. He has improved each season from what ive seen so id much rather let 2026 play out than trade him for a 4th or something

550 yards is a breakout year?

For comparison AJ Brown posted over 1000 yards his first two seasons. In fact the only time he didn’t was year three when he got hurt and missed time.

I like Boutte… he’s not Nico Collins or Justin Jefferson… not even close. He’s more Kendrick Bourne.

So instead of 550 yards he has what, 700… still just a good possession WR. Why don’t we want our own Nico Collins, Justin Jefferson… why are we so quick to run towards mediocrity?

Boutte's #s doesn't indicate how well he was playing. He suffered a hamstring injury early November. He would have had 50 plus receptions, around 10 TDs, and around 800 yds. Boutte 4.50 40 - doubbs ran a 4.52 - aj brown ran a 4.49 40 but he does have about 20 pounds on em both.

Kendrick Bourne, except 23, on a nothing contract, with plenty of upside.

Why would keeping boutte mean we’re not going to try for a #1? You can never have enough good wr’s with a young qb, especially when they have the kind of chemistry he has with Drake.

I think some people here overvalue Boutte. He has shown flashes of brilliance, but he struggles with consistency. He can can dominate a game here and there, but disappear for three or four games too.

I think at best, Boutte is worth a day two pick. Most likely no higher than a late 2, but I think more realistically his ceiling is a third rounder. My guess is he would most likely go for a high 4th rounder value.

Unless the the Patriots intend to move Doubs to the slot, I don't think there is a spot in the starting rotation for Boutte after the Brown trade eventually happens. Brown would be the X and Doubs most likely will be the Z in the starting rotation. I think the Z is probably Boutte's more natural spot even though he plays the X more so far in his career, but I don't think he is as good as Doubs.

I think Williams will get more looks this year in the X and Hollins is the back up for the Z. I am not sure where Boutte fits in once Brown is here. Again, that is if the Pats don't make Doubs move to the slot like Diggs did last year (and the year before in Houston).

With Brown and Doubs here and the hopeful year two jump for Williams, I don't think the Pats will be able to keep Boutte here past next season. He is going to want to go where he can be a guaranteed starter. It might be better to trade him now rather than let him walk for nothing especially if the Pats are active enough in free agency next year to not have him net a compensatory pick.

Except he is likely going to be a back up this upcoming season and will likely be looking to move on after this season. He is going to want to be in a place where he can start.

Even before his injury, Boutte could disappear for games at a time. He had a great game the opening week and then proceeded to have 4 catches for 62 yards and a TD in the next three games combined. Consistency is an issue with him.

Fair enough. I think his #s woulda been really good for an up an coming player. But all this boils down to what the pats get in return for boutte and what they give up for brown. If the Pats get less than a 4th for boutte id be upset. If they give up a 1st or more for brown id be upset. A 27' 2nd and boutte for brown i could live with that.

What? By catching 10 fewer balls than he did the previous year? Some breakout.

5th or 6th? So no better than a flier draft pick. ROFL.

He gets you a third.
NO way on earth the Pats get a 3rd for him. It looks like we will see as he's up for trade. I'll make sure to bookmark your comment.

He’s probably more valuable to the Patritos than what any other team is going to offer

I don't think anyone is saying that.
They don’t realize in order to add better players you have to vacate lesser player’s snaps and targets. It’s simple math and team building.

Boutte wants a contract. So either pay him or trade him.

They’re not going to pay him, add Browm and just have paid Doubs. It’s too much money being spent at one position group.
