I have been pondering this weeks game. I know what I do want to see this Sunday, a patriot victory. I certainly don't want to see the Patriots not win.

But, the thing I really don't want to see this Sunday is a replay of last years playoff game in Denver. I don't want to see this team give away this game with turnovers. I don't want the friggin ref's to be a factor.

I want to see a total team effort and a well played game. If our team gives it their very best effort and don't turn over the ball, I can live with the results. I don't want to have the bitter taste in my mouth that I had last year.

Don't get me wrong, I think that the Patriots will win. I think that the Patriots can win the 4th SB. :rocker:

Great insight. I was hoping to see a repeat of all their past faulures.

But ...what is the point of this thread?

all i ask for is a hard fought game with intensity.

if Chargers are simply a better team then be it..i can accept it because i would know they are better IF we both play hard and leave it on the field

what i dont want to see is us making simple mistakes, mental mistakes like off sides and coming out flat. we need every ounce of energy from every player to play as 1

i ask for no penalties, no missed assignments and 200% of smash mouth defense and 200% of mistake free offense

I agree. I have no problem losing to a team who proves that they are better. But last years Denver game was the ultimate fluke game, and that just isn't the way you want your season to end.

"What is the point of this thread." What a stupid statement. The point was what the guy said.

I'll type it slowly.

I want the Patriots to play their best and leave their best on the field. I don't want 5 turnovers and bad offciating as there was last year in Denver. I don't want the second guessing and bitter taste if they should not win.

Understand?

Good call, patsnut, totally agree. If we lose, we lose--but let's not give it away.

Anything similar to what happened in Denver last year, or Miami this year.

I really don't think that will happen. Pats have been playing focused disciplined football with few errors, except for a few unnecessary roughness penalties the past two games. But looking at the tape of the Jets game, I completely understand the Wilfork and the Bruschi penalties, and don't think they were bad. Just playing with intensity.

And Merriman pumping his fist in our backfield....

I think PATSNUTme is unfortunately reminding us about how we all felt after the Denver game last year. It was sickening. I for one could not sleep and it felt surreal. With all the turnovers and bad reffing...

I agree with him. If we lose, fine. But if we lose because we beat ourselves, it will be a tough pill to swallow.

You realize if you type it slowly it still appears on the baord the same.

I guess I was expecting some in depth analysis like I don't want to see Power I more than 15% of the time and only in special situations.

What I DO WANT to see if the Pats playing mental game with the chargers and catching them with 12 guys on defense.

I just live to meet you expectations.

last year's game was frustrating because the team lost due to playing crappy. if they lose this year simply because the other team was better so be it.

I DON'T want to see a Denver repeat either, but more than that, I don't want to see a repeat of the SD game from last year.

LT ran free. Gates ran free. It was one of those games where nothing worked for us and everything worked for them.

I hope the coaching staff has a plan for how to denfend that one two punch.

That game can be thrown out. We were injury riddled, mostly on D but some on O, and had people playing who are no longer on the team. Seymour got injured early in that game.

We are a much better team this time around, much better.
