However, I would like to see more of Jackson and Gaffney.
BTW, I think Gaffney is dependable enough so that Gabriel wasn't even kept as insurance.

Troy Brown was a special teamer and 3rd down receiver.
I think it was only his second year as starter.
Patten was a castoff as you posters love to call them, picked up off the trash heap.
I swear to God, I think our 3rd receiver by years end was Fre Coleman who had 2 catches.
Some Patriots historian needs to help me out, what WRs made it to the end for the Pats.
I know Glenn was booted and I swear Charles Johnson and Smalls were cut.
Can't remember about Emanuel. That leaves 3 WR on the roster for the playoffs? That can't be right.
2001 Receptions by wr's:
Brown-101
Patten-51
Glenn-14
C. Johnson-14
Small-4
Emanuel-4
Coleman-2
Jackson-2
(Brady and Cox each had 1 also).
In the playoffs, only Brown, Patten, and Johnson caught balls.
Yes, Troy then is better than almost anything we put out there now, but I'd take Gafney, Jackson, Reche, and Brown (06) over Brown (01), Patten, Johnson, Small, Emanuel, and Coleman.

Exactly. People who complain about our WR's now or a 'lack of talent' are simply trying to ignore McDaniel's ineptitude.
