What are you talking about, 'funny contract'?

Unless the deal is fully-guaranteed then it is not a situation where saying '37 year old Welker isn't worth 11m' is accurate because if the deal is only partially guaranteed - and you know it is - then it's the guaranteed money that matters, every thing else after that is optional or restructure fodder.

Who said what the guaranteed money is? Nobody has a clue. My statement was no more or less hypothetical than anything Deus has thrown out there.

Perhaps one of my favorite Patriots of all time. Hard worker, never gave up, but man did he have some costly drops.

Can't wait for Brady & Co. to blow him and Peyton out of the water this season.

The sad thing is that anyone who might contribute close to as much as Welker will cost about as much as he will.

As you have said before, anyone who can contribute close to as much as Lloyd will cost more than Lloyd.

The BOTTOM LINE is that if we replace Welker and Lloyd, it will likely cost us more money for hopefully the same, but more likely less production.

No team in the NFL is as capable of being penny wise and pound foolish as the New England Patriots.

I'm fine with it as long as the Pats do something to offset the loss. Drastically improve the defense and get a decent replacement for Welker and I can live with it. I am ok with weakening the offense if they improve the defense.
