Getting McDermott and Jack Jones back will hopefully start to stabilize things and at least make the game competitive. From here forward it is about building towards next year. Ironically Mac is in position to control his own destiny. If he continues to suck, the team will have a high draft pick to choose his successor, if he improves and helps lead the team to around .500 the best QBs will be gone by the time the Pats draft forcing their hands to keep him next year. In either event the team needs to find a solid veteran to mentor Mac or the next young QB.

I agree. The Patriots are a completely demoralized team right now. I don't imagine there's a lot of camaraderie in locker room. I wouldn't be surprised to see them lose by 21 or more.

My only contribution is that I have Josh Allen and Gabe Davis on my fantasy team and I'm expecting to win my match up this week based just on the former.

Very possible we could see a change at QB again if it gets out of hand. I’d rather the team stick with Mac. I suspect he’s ruined, but at least we know we can lose with him and we’ll get a better pick in April.

The Patriots are going to lose this game at home.

Why start Mac Jones, the fans will be on his case. The Patriots should not keep Mac Jones in the future. So Give the entire game to Zappe. So what if he is bad, he must go as well next season.

Next season, get Kirk Cousins to be the lead QB while developing another drafted QB. No more taking a draftee and making him the starting QB first game. It is too much pressure.

So start Zappe. Don't get upset if he has a bad day.

The whole Cunningham QB2 thing feels less about Cunningham at this point and more about Bill just trying to squeeze value out of a roster spot. Normally your QB2 rides the bench and doesn't contribute, but now Bill gets to have his QB2 out there running routes as a WR a few times a game and playing special teams. On most teams, if your starting QB gets hurt, your chances of winning with your backup fall drastically. In NE, their chances of winning with their stater were already in single digits, so there's not a lot of risk here.

But it certainly does feel a bit strange to have your QB2 be a guy who has barely taken any reps at QB. That would be like if they had Edelman as the QB2 for Brady.

The dolphins were 1-7 with flores in 2021 and won 8 of the remaning 9. Not saying we can do it but it has happened. its all on the attitude of the players and coaches. They need a win to get some confidence . i will never root for the pats to lose -tanking be damned

Desperate times call for desperate measures. The team might as well kick the tires on Cunningham while there is no impact to the teams outlook. Any competitive advantage is worth exploring. In some ways it is good to see that BB is not throwing is arms in the air, even if there is a small chance that it will make a difference.

i keep going back to how the jets have turned their seson around zach wilson who was terrible for 3 yrs. If that can happen even we can turn it around. As much backlash and laughing stick this team is, they need one inspired performace to trigger a boost .Dont know where it will come from though because we have also caught the injury bug at the right time.
