Atlanta Falcons at New Orleans Saints - preview, prediction and pick against the spread

John Morgan

New Atlanta head coach Dan Quinn spent nearly twenty years as a defensive line coach prior to becoming Seattle's defensive coordinator for two years, when the Seahawks were the NFL's best defense and won the Super Bowl. While it is still a work in progress, Atlanta’s defense has noticeably improved from the porous sieve that they were the last couple of years. The Falcon offensive line suffered through more than their fair share of injuries last year; that group being healthy has led to an improved offense, especially running the ball.

RB Devonta Freeman leads the NFL with eight rushing touchdowns and is second with 405 yards rushing. Despite a rough game last week against Washington, QB Matt Ryan is still completing 65% of his passes and averaging 291 passing yards per game. WR Julio Jones leads the league with 190 yards after the catch and is second overall with 545 yards receiving (109 yards per game).

TNF: Falcons @ Saints

I can't see the Saints winning this game, even the Falcons being soft on the road, even the Saints being strong in NO, from what I've seen so far (didn't see every team) the Saints are the second worst team in the league, behind the Lions.

I forgot about this game... my wife's family is all Mets fans. Excellent... good click back material. Go Saints!

Edit: don't dislike me for rooting for the Mets. It's a painless way to promote family harmony.

With the exception of run defense they both relatively close statistically.

Could be a closer game than you expect.

I have a feeling the Saints are going to beat the Falcons.

Then again I had a feeling the Chiefs, Lions, Vikings and Raiders were going to beat the donkeys...

Saints will win tonight.

Is it just me or has every Broncos game been a repeat of their week one victory over the Ravens?

lol jesus Falcons fans must be a tad bit annoyed CBS just put everyone against them.

Watching the Broncos play is like watching your drunk buddy hit on every chick in a bar. Just a awful, sloppy mess to watch. Comical in some way but pathetic in others.

But he manages to close the deal.....and we are left to wonder how.

Warm Gatorade?

Atlanta will steamroll the Saints.

Lol that falcons tackler, pitiful

Great effort by Ingram for the TD... nice pace on the opening drive, everything attacking the middle...

Ingram is good but, not sure why the Saints paid a premium to get both Ingram and Spiller when they were hurting at so many positions for money. Running backs are a dime a dozen.

So you just let Jones walk down the outside like that? Cmon, that's almost as bad as not covering gronk.
