Purdy is much better than people give him credit. I was much higher on Purdy coming out of Iowa State than most and feel like it was a travesty that he lasted until the 7th. Aside from the cast around him he is not much different than early Brady.
We can say that because he's been In one NFL offense as opposed to say a Mac 3 different OCs in 3 years. Thing's we're not perfect around him. We need to see Purdy elevate 2s and 3s.. like brady did for example. Not taking anything away from Purdy as he's in a NFL heavenly situation any player would want to be. He's a good QB. He's got a excellent O line.. shanny and lynch focused on making sure the roster was enough to support a QB.. Purdy was taken as a project QB he beat out Jimmy G.

I don’t like all the detail Mayo gives in press conferences about shifting and focusing on certain players. A little more secrecy when it comes to that please?
Personally doesn't bother me.. players still have to execute no matter a coach says.

Minus the 3 championships early brady had..

True but its still Purdy early in his career.
Please don't think I'm against Purdy at all. It's just easy for people to say he's good he's never had any adversity.. he's been deep in the playoffs each season, he's got a wealth of talent.. he's set to succeed in the NFL. Brady raised Troy, patten, branch, givens, wiggy... none of those guys are on the level of what Purdy has around him. I think a QB with Jimmy's and Joe's and raises them is more impressive. It speaks to the QB.

I get that its a very different situation. Purdy has better weapons and TFB had a much better defense that I will say won those championships along with Vinitieri (spelling). TFB still made plays but was not called upon to win the games he was asked to not lose. He progressed very well and won games later. Purdy is a point guard in a sense but has to rely on the defense and the SF defense is not always a up to the task.

I don't think you are taking anything away from him. SF is asking Purdy to win the games along with his starting cast and he has been able to do that but he has not always been able to overcome the defense. That is an issue that TFB never had. I understand that everyone says Purdy is in a better situation but I disagree wholeheartedly. I know it was a different era but TFB knew that defense was going to keep the other team in check, so he was not forced to make as many plays.

Just my unpopular view point.

Call me a homer, call me naive, call me a dreamer but on any given Sunday.. I have survived, er lived in Philly area for nearly 40 years and one game sticks out.
October 1994, nearly 30 years ago, the Eagles coached ( miscoached) by Rich Kotite on their way to a 7-9 season faced the 49ers who would go on to a Super Bowl victory and stomped them 40-8.
Eagles 40-8 49ers (Oct 2, 1994) Final Score - ESPN
So anything is possible..

Hmmm?

Super Bowl vs. Seahawks: Patriots allow 24 points, almost 400 yards, and damn near lost it for them before pulling a miracle from Pete's dumb decision. Also let's not forget the two 14pt deficits vs. Ravens.

Superbowl vs. Atlanta: 28-3 comeback.

Superbowl vs. Eagles: lost because of defense, regardless of TB's historic play.

2010-2013 was Brady keeping this franchise afloat while the defense was going through a rebuild, particularly in the secondary.

Brady has definitely had to deal with the defense ****ting the bed.

Agreed. Brady made winning plays and didn't over do it. He played within the scope of the offense and was super clutch like the throw to Wiggy in a snow storm on the biggest stage. He had no where of the caliber of players Purdy has. That's what made brady so special his ability to lead and elevate those lesser talents around him. I believe SF offense is every bit as good as their defense.

Oh I get your view and it's logical. He's doing what he's asked to do In thier offense. I also was just impressed with the QBs ability to raise lesser players. Guess that is just me seeing it for so long here and becoming accustomed.

My response above was in reference to early Brady because we were comparing early Brady to early Purdy situations. This team got to the point that we relied on TFB because he was a stud and able to elevate the rest of the team and the defense was not great. TFBs 2nd and 3rd HOF careers he was definitely the altenator to the cars engine, because without him nothing ran.

I am not a car guy so if I effed up the car analogy I apologize. Basically I am trying to say HE IS GUUD
