Not really. 2nd quarter and a defensive penalty already had given them an extra set of downs.

Accepting the penalty would have meant a replay of down, so I figure it was just "Get the D off the field."

He was reported at one point (either last game or during the week) as having apparent injury issues.

Makes sense, since I can't think of any reason why you'd choose to play Ryan and Coleman over him. But he wasnt listed on the injury report I don't think, so that's kinda weird.
