Same. He’s a good athlete and a hard worker but I have the feeling Chism is going to pass him at some point this year simply because he can perform his role in the offense correctly more often.
I agree. Y3 and Pop is still running the wrong routes. Hard for Maye to find Pop when he is in the wrong place. McDaniel will start putting Diggs and Hollins in the slot.

We don’t know that.
I’m a Chism fan, but he hasn’t even played a regular season snap. You can’t count preseason snaps against vanilla defenses and 2nd and 3rd stringers and say he can do the job correctly more often.

Based on Downing's comments doesn't sound like that's happening soon.

"Happens to be in a room with 5 other talented guys"

Even if Pop doesn't get going Chiz still has 4 other guys ahead of him too.

There’s not 4 other guys ahead of him as a primary slot though. Boutte, Hollins and Chism aren’t really competing for the same snaps for example.

Interesting to note that the "unbelievably horrible Miami team that we should be chastised for only beating by 10 points went on the road to a top 4 team in the league and was driving deep into Buffalo territory for the tying or winning score with 3 minutes left and gave up the first TO of the game. (And on a short week where the away team is at a horrible disadvantage. On the plus side it was above 45 degrees. )

EVERY team can beat the another even when the supposed best plays the supposed worst. It is hard to beat ANYONE in the league.

Eventually someone will get hurt and Chism get a shot. Once he does I don't think they will be able to healthy scratch him again. Every step of the way it seems he has had to fight for every rung up the ladder. For some reason they never really gave him a chance to see what he could do with the 1s. He forced his way onto the roster almost against their will it seems. Once he plays I count on him to force his way onto the game day roster.

Just hope it not Diggs or Boutte. Everyone else right now feels expendable.

He won't be given a shot until they have no choice it seems, and then he'll force their hand. Like he has every step of the way.

Isn't this how it should be? It's not like they are handing anything to Williams either. Nothing is given and you have to earn it.

It’s a matter of time. The undrafted rookie will get his shot…most likely due to injury. It will be fun to see what he can do.

I disagree. He averages 15 sacks a season. What is overrated is only having one star player and the rest of the defense is trash. They've never had a good defense since he was drafted.
Steelers have had some great players on defense over the years... Woodley, Harrison, dupree of course watt, timmons.. to name a few. IMO the OL aside from some penalties has been solid. I will take that because with each game Campbell and Wilson are gaining invaluable experience and confidence.

McDaniels seems to have a lot of confidence in Pop at the moment. I was expecting much better numbers than we are currently seeing. Pop seems uncoverable in TC: I am worried how that is not translating on GameDay. The McDaniels Offense we know always have a volume Slot: Pop have been pedestrian so far very concerning.

I've been clamoring for chiz and pop together in the slot.. it would help both thier games. I want to see chiz as well..

I hear you twin. I want to see more of pop involved as well. Play chiz and pop together in the slot.. pop is the quickest wr we have that can uncover and get separation.

I wouldn't mind Marcus Bryant getting some Game Day run; to see if he has a future in this League. Corpse Moses is on his last legs: also Caedan Wallace should be able to play some there. Wolf Reached for him in the This Round in that almost forgettable Draft.

I forgot Wallace was still on the roster. I forgot we even had a draft class 2024 mayo year... twin it will be a matter of time before Bryant is the starting rt.. slow Mo-ses will be on IR soon..

I'm starting to think that for a layman training camp practices are not the best place to judge a slot receiver. They always look good in July. From Welker-Pop they all stand out. Some end up as Gunner or Berrios, others don't work like Juju, and a few turned out great like Wes or Jules.

I saw that too and assumed Pop was in the wrong spot. I have the impression that Pop struggles with the route tree and running the play.
He seems to not have a good feel for how to find the weak spots between zones. He appears to me to always run through where he should hit the brakes and sit.

IF Pop Douglas comes out of Sunday's game like he did last: I see a benching coming Chism time.
