Week 2 Pats @ Steelers pregame thread

Dolphins did not look great running so hopefully the Steelers look equally bad. I think the Pats will be in a "heavier" set with Jennings playing. Trubisky is not going to run away with the ball.
Why would the Dolphins be braindead and focus on the run when-

1 Miami spent all that money on Hill.
2 They want to pair Hill with Waddle and join the 2022 NFL where you attack defenses throwing.
3 The pass was working vs NE.

The one problem I see with Jones' pocket presences is that he tends to try to buy time by moving backwards. Unfortunately, that will move him right in the direction of the defender on plays where the tackles use the defender's momentum to drive them beyond the pocket.
I can't remember so im asking ... Was stepping up in the pocket the cause of last year's knee injury? If so it might be an explanation of that behavior... But I truly don't remember...

Pickens and Claypool were really quiet last Sunday. Dionte Johnson is the guy to shut down.

Tribisky leaned heavy on his TEs. vs the Bengals. He liked to go to Trey Burton, Cole Kemet and Jimmy Graham when he was in Chicago as well.

It was a sloppy week 1 for lots of teams.

I believe that not being able to practice in the preseason as much as they used too is a factor.

Good read by Cox, Rham may be getting a lot of looks as our 3rd down back:

Hope all those good things they are saying about Rham come to fruition in the passing and blocking games.

Six of the Steelers’ seven sacks against Burrow came from players other than the defending DPOY.

There's another mystifying healthy scratch from last week... In what level of quantum reality does rancid, less-than-useless garbage such as Jalopy Tavai dress ahead of Anfernee Jennings, who finally had a TC that at least came a little closer to justifying his multiple-round over-draft status? Whom did Penny piss off, Little Steven? Brian? Amanda? The 3 stooges sure do love their pets & their special olympics teams "mavens"...

Trubisky is not going to run away with the ball.

Based on...? Did you not watch their game in Chicago from 2018? And that was vs a defense MUCH better than this one.

He just kept the crazy in house, from coming to light... But there were still instances where it shone through... The Facebook live stuff, pegging roethlisberger with a football... Suspension for not practicing... Getting ticked off over juju getting team MVP... How many other incidents were there we didn't hear of? Control? Nah... Contained is more like

AB wasn't a problem during his first six years that I can remember, until the Burfict hit...

The much vaunted miami offense scored 13 points against the patriots. Let's not over rate what Miami did. Miami has a strong defense that coupled with an atrocious non call on a blatant pass interference in the end zone that led to a turnover and 3 miami points, led to a patriots loss.

chances are as he got better, the more he pushed the boundaries, we just never heard about it... Kinda like a toddler pushing to see how far their parents will let it go... I think Mike "Tripper" Tomlin didn't smack him down soon enough / hard enough to keep his behavior somewhat in check... by that time, it was too late, full blown diva syndrome... The dude live streamed a team meeting on facebook ffs...

Maybe the Burfict hit had something to do with it... head shots can have real life consequences, so i wouldnt rule it out... But at the same time i think it was also (at least in part? ) his ego bringing out the inner ass hole as be became a super star in the league and beyond

Hill made his Dolphins debut in Sunday’s 20-7 win over the New England Patriots, and his 94 receiving yards was the most by a Miami newcomer in Week 1 since running back Jim Kiick in 1970.
