With an average loss of 15.5 points per game, the Jete are on pace to set a record for the worst single season point differential in NFL history. At this pace Gang Green will have a negative differential of 247 points, which would blow them past the WWII depleted and merged club of the Cardinals and Pittsburgh. That appropriately named team of Car-Pitts lost every game, throwing eight touchdown passes versus 41 interceptions while surrendering three times as many points (328) as they scored (108).

Other trivialities:
- All four NFC East teams rank in the top ten worst offenses. That feat is remarkable considering how often each of those teams gets the benefit of playing against one another.
- I was surprised to see Miami's defense rank so high (#2 in points allowed) - even more so when you consider the Dolphin defense ranks just 20th in both yards allowed per game and yards allowed per play, 29th in opponent yards per rush and 26th in opponent rushing yards per game. Miami is getting it done thanks to turnovers: they rank second in the NFL with 1.7 takeaways per game (19 total).
- Atlanta has lost three more games than they have won despite scoring more points than they have allowed. Their plus-14 point differential (and that of 4-7 Washington, -2) is better than that of the 8-3 Browns, 6-5 Raiders, and four 5-6 teams. I'm not sure if that is a testament to Cleveland and Las Vegas finding ways to win close games, or an indictment of Atlanta and Washington's propensity to lose close ones. Let's see how the Browns and Raiders handle things down the stretch, possibly exposed as fraudulent contenders.
- Four teams rank in both the bottom-10 offenses as well as bottom-10 defenses: the Jete, Jaguars, Cowboys and Broncos. Given that fact it is bewildering that Denver has managed to compile a 4-7 record. It's too bad that the Patriots couldn't have played them at any other time than when they did, with the Pats offensive line in shambles that week.

I don't understand why CBS is carrying an NFC game let alone the crappy Packers/Eagles matchup.
