We Seem To Finally Have A Dime Back

I think the snap totals are as significant for who didn't get any as they were for who did. Against a passing team missing its best running back, Bequette wasn't even active and Wilson didn't take a single snap.

They should play spikes as a DL.

Spikes weighs 250 pounds. Not eager to see how he would fare on the defensive line, and not sure why anyone would want him there, considering that it would neutralize what he's best at.

I envision Spikes suiting up for either the Titans, Raiders, Giants or Bears next season.

I would hate to see him on the Jets :bricks: but I could see it happening.

Call me crazy. But, in 3rd and plus 10. I'd consider my front four this; Ninkovich - DE, Hightower - DT, C. Jones - DT and Buchanan - DE. Linebackers become Mayo and Collins. Obviously, only want to do when a pass is certain. And, run stunts/twists with Hightower/Ninko to take advantage of their athleticism. I know. I'm crazy.

He played a bit of DE his senior year at Alabama, but never DT.

Hence the value of Hightower: a 270 pound guy who's athletic enough to stay on the field in these formations. I'm becoming even more confident that he's our MLB of the future.

After watching the first two games all 22 tape I am very impressed with Hightowers pass coverage ability. I mean, for his size he looks very good at it. I think he is a big part of why our defense is much better now. Because he and Mayo can sure up the middle and doesn't let people roam free there.

Spikes played significant snaps against the Bucs, I think it depends on the opponent, whether the Patriots want to dedicate a defender specifically to stopping the run or blitzing if the offense goes pass. Spikes can be very effective.

As for Ryan, he was not seen until the second half and a lead was built, most likely trying to get him some experience...at least until Dennard went out with an injury.

I agree that Spikes playing for the Patriots next season is up in the air, but I still love his physical play.

In the loss of Wilfork, I predict a renaissance for the need for a run stuffer like Spikes in shutting down the run,

This! That's why I don't understand how people can say they haven't been impressed with Hightower this year. Must be because he's not getting the "sexy stats." To me looks like he's keeping the game in front of him. He looks like a natural leader out their. Feel very comfortable with him In coverage.

This makes no sense :/

Bruschi says it makes sense.

Wouldn't play as a DT, just constantly crash the line or blitz instead of going into coverage, where he is a statue.
