Long time listener first time caller or something like that.I have been a Pats fan all my life and truly appreciate what Belichick has done for us...Hes the anti-parcells...He ditched the jets for us....He stuck with Brady when it was the hard decision(especially for him he still hears crap about kosar)He assembled a team that has three rings in the last five years and dont say Parcells built that team ...no Parcells built a team of stars(bledsoe, martin.glenn)We lost our divas and won our titles..Bledsoe was a big star but not big time(I loved the guy but he was infuriating to watch sometimes)Belichick built a team...this team....you may not recognize some of the parts from year to year..but you surely recognize the results..and dont say last year was a failure...how many of you can say we failed last year?We were devastated injury wise..and we still won a playoff game!...now I know all you haters think the Dan Snyder plan is the way overpay big name talent and then watch how they have little motivation to play hard cause they got theirs upfront...now armies might fight well on a full stomach but football players need to be hungry...he finds hardworking kids...shows them if they work hard they can succeed...but take your foot off that throttle for one minute and you can hit the road no matter who you are...now I know we all love our favorite players...but we were one of the oldest teams we had to reboot...notice I did not say rebuild...I think we will definitly compete for a title next year(and no Dolphin fans i'm not scared of your new Qb who had 6tds and 12ints last year before his injury..hes small time like your franchise you own september like the deadskins own march)...so what I really want to say is we should start a post here or on the pats sight and thank Mr. Belichick tell him we appreciate what he has done and what he will do and that we know he has a vision and it is a grand one.Tell him we are sorry our local media is so spiteful and vitriolic and just plain jealous of him for whatever reason, and beg him to never leave us...grab him by the leg plead cry, threaten suicide do whatever it takes to make him stay...or one day we may wake to the Globe reporting Big Bad Belichick is Gone by Ron Borges*shivers*

I think many many here understand and DO appreciate all that he has done. BUT I wish there was something, some way that this could be done..NOW especially. I mean it is really anti-BB now and with no need whatsoever. These writers are to me the bottom of the barrel...and are just so lucky they have a football team as it is now..and NOT one of the older Patriot squads that was always trying but far far away.

At the very least, there is the "ask PFW" link on the team's website. It's supposed to be a questions only link, but it's basically one (team-affiliated) outlet's "letters to the editor" section. I actually think they'd appreciate a flood of mail on this very subject - it's off-season everywhere, after all.

:rocker:

BBYO, great name and first post, welcome to the board! BB is smart enough to know that the opinions of the media does not change the opinions of the fans!

Yeah, Brady was a tough decision...I am sure most HC's in the NFL wish they had to make a choice like that.

Brady is the reason why he went on to be the 'genius' he has been deemed. Sure other players and coaches are certainly part of that, but he knew the minute Brady walked on that field on 9.23.01 what he had and he probably was *&$%^ himself over his damned LUCK!

I don't think so.

I wonder how many other coaches would have had the "luck" to make the move he did? That lucky minute you say occured on 9/23/01 - do you discount all of the other lucky minutes leading up to that minute?

First, they had to draft the kid and no one else did, very lucky move. Then they had to spend countless hours working with the kid - no other team would have been lucky enough to do that, he would have been cut, just look at the depth chart at the time and tell me how lucky it was we did not cut him. It was really lucky BB allowed him to develop to the point where he made that lucky choice to put him in when Drew went down and it was most fortunate that he chose to keep him in there all season. I guess you are right, nothing but luck all the way for BB.

To discredit BB for making decisions that no other would have at the time is quote typical of the BS bias against him.

Luck is the residue of design my friend, you sir are an idiot not to recognize a great coach, front office and team along with the QB.

Dude, you can't possibly be serious, can you? BB needs none of our back slapping, believe me. He gets paid millions of dollars to coach a football team, happens to enjoy his work a great deal and couldn't give a rats ass about what anyone else thinks - fans or media.

In fact, the case could easily be made that BB has dissed such loyal fans as you'd find here by not bothering to explain anything about what he is doing with the team. A two sentence repetition of the same old, same old, from the owners meetings hardly meets the level of frustration and disappointment we feel watching heros like AV and Willie walk out the door without a public word from the coach about why they had to go.

If you want to pump somebody up, go find a volunteer helping feed the poor, or teaching illiterate adults how to read, or anyone lending a hand just because they can. But don't waste your time worrying about BB, because he is rich, happily employed playing a game, and has a skin so thick he couldn't be burned by a million ignorant Borges columns. In other words - get real pal.

BBYO, I like your name too but where is the nod to Bill Russell, perhaps the greatest of Boston's great athletes?

On behalf of BB and the entire Patriots organization, I will explain to you on a public forum why we lost those guys.

Ready , here it comes:$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

There you go, a public explaination that the fans are owed.

Great post, especially on the "reboot" not "rebuild" point. I call it "transitioning," rather than "rebuilding," but the same idea. and the criticism's of BB in the media and by the talk radio idiots is just plain laughable...i mean, a serious sports fan just can't take it seriously and I wouldn't want to waste my breath arguing with these people, nor would I know where to begin...Bill Belichick is the greatest Coach of the Cap Era, possibly the greatest Coach of the SB era and also belongs in a discussion of the top three or five of the greatest Coaches in the history of the NFL...

the Boston Sports Media and too many Boston Area Fans have some sort of complex that all the shrinks in the world couldn't figure out if they spent their whole lives trying. I can only figure that it has something to do with the "86" year thing and the whole Babe Ruth business...otherwise it makes no sense...they should all take a few truckloads of Valium or Xanax or something and get a perspective...

wow did I piss in your cheerios?..ok listen I took your advice I volunteered at a soup kitchen this morning ...I give em my best tony robbins impression...had everyone just pumped up!...Then I taught an illiterate how to read (by the way your dad is a fast learner)all joking aside I dont think you understood my post I wasnt worried about Belichick I was concerned about us fans losing him...because I dont care how thick ones skin is no one likes to be constantly crapped on(especially when he has done a hell of a job)...and the Pats aint the only ones willing to pay him millions....and obviously from my name you can tell I meant no disrespect for Brady...but credit where credit is due....Brady was one in a million and Bill knew it...if he had stuck with Brady and it didnt work...he would be defensive coordinator for the cowboys now..and have about as good a chance of getting another head coach job as rich kotite...Brady was lightning in a bottle...but he could have been crap in a cup..all praise be to Bill for believing in him after just a relatively few starts..........oh and about my name I do love Bill Russell my original name was gonna be BradyBirdYazOrrRussellTippettNeelyDeweyCousyHondo_ZetaJones but It seemed a little cumbersome
