We have seen 1000 posts on how DEN choked.

DEN was smoked by the #1 team in the NFL, from the beginning of the season to the end. All through the season, most considered SEA and SF to be the best teams in the NFL by quite a bit. Well, just maybe, everyone was right.

Seattle scored TD's: by rushing, passing, interception, and a kick return. They also had a safety and a field goal. They had a fumble, but didn't score.

The defense was indeed awesome, but the rest of the team was great also. And just BTW, how many times was Manning sacked? How many blitzes were called? When we analyze tomorrow we will find that the receivers were always covered. That was the patriots strategy to start the year, and we were doing fine until we lost Talib (and Mayo, Wilfork and Kelly).

We didn't lose to DEN two weeks ago because we were soft. We lost because we didn't have the defensive players to defend, especially once Talib was was out.

The patriots don't need a re-work to beat Denver. We may need to get much better before we are favored over Seattle (or SF for that matter).

Obviously, Seattle has done very well developing draft choices and UDFA's. When was the last time that a 7th rounder was SB MVP?

I'm assuming Carroll had a lot to do with building that team, he did a great job. I believe Richard Sherman is from the old "press corner" idea that resulted in meathead Tebucky Jones. Carroll has always been a great defensive mind. Obviously he was a poor fit and landed in a bad situation here, so he never made his mark.

No team in the NFL was going to beat them the way they played tonight. They were unbeatable IMHO.

The Broncos have never won a Super Bowl without cheating. Remember they received a $1M fine for this for cheating when they won their two Super Bowls. There was talk of stripping them of their titles since this directly affected the team they put on the field. I wish someone would ask John Elway about this the way the Patriots always get asked.

The Seahawks showed up, grabbed the Broncos by the collar and took them out behind the woodshed. Give credit where credit is due.

Two days ago I picked Seattle...right here on this board in the pick thread...Seattle 28 Denver potato...I was off...Seattle scored way more than I thought...so did Denver with their inspirational 8 points

so, I'm sorry Seattle for doubting your utter dominance...and even though I sense the OP wants apologies to precious Peytie Pouterburg and his utter greatliness....phukk him and the jackazz he rode off on

Absolutely, Seattle deserves TONS of credit. But Denver coughed up a pretty big fur ball being abjectly uncompetitive in a championship game. I think the Broncos coaching staff was in over their heads. Fox pretty much turned the team over to Manning and Del Rio and the track record of both when the chips are down is poor. Seattle deserved to win, but Denver choked badly not making it a game.

My personal opinion is that I haven't seen a patriot team with even a slight chance at beating the Seattle team I saw tonight since 2007.

that's an odd thought after witnessing a rival that the whole world lusts after to usurp Brady's mantle take a gigantic face first splat to the concrete...the first thing you think of is the Patriots are inferior.

whatever, man. Sorry the Patriots rent so much dark space in your head.

If denver was the greatest offense of all time, shouldn't Seattle be considers the greatest defense of all time after that performance?

The SB XX Bears against this Seattle team in a one off game. Who wins?

It's impossible to do this, even within a hypothetical vacuum.

The Seahawks have almost three decades of football knowledge more than those Bears. Seahawks.. not close.

It's definitely up there.

I agree. Why would anyone here use this game to dump on OUR team? I actually felt encouraged by it, knowing how far the Pats went with so many starters out. Comparatively speaking, the Patriots are a more balanced team than Seattle. If we made it to this Super Bowl in a reasonably healthy state (with Vollmer, Mayo, Wilfork, Kelly, Gronk, Spikes plus a healthy Talib and Dobson), I think we would've done better than Denver and quite possibly could've won.

Seattle played two home playoff games against the Saints (very comparable to the Pats) and Niners, and couldn't put either away until the final seconds. The fact is Seattle is a very good team, no surprise given it made it to the finals, but is not unbeatable.

The Broncos mistakes never allowed for pressure on Wilson and the Hawks offense. It forced a one dimensional offense into the strength of the Hawks D. Those mistakes changed the way the game had to be played, and the Broncos never found a rhythm. Would that play out the same way in a rematch, or in 20 rematches? No chance.

This team beat last years' Pats in Seattle by 1 point, and this 13-3 team is not markedly different than the 11-5 version last year. I don't think you have to look past last years' team to find competition.

Seattle is definitely the best team this year by far. I do think that if we had still had Welker instead of Amendola and Hernandez, as well as a healthy team without the injuries that we would have made this damn close.

At the start of the season we were inheriting the best offense in the nfl and returning most players including all our young weapons, as well as drafting three really nice wrs. Almost everyone was posed for big leaps in ability.

Our defense actually got a steal in Kelly who was playing like an all pro and if you had told me that we would have great play from three rookies! then I would have pegged us as a top ten defense.

A top 3 offense and a top ten defense, as well as some of the best st play in the league and we should have been easily in the mix with sf, Denver and Seattle as the most talented squads in the league.

What Seattle did was actually very fundamental and simple and it comes from how they build their team and practice ... they are constantly rotating their players to play at maximum speed. They practice at maximum speed ... everything they do is super speed - their plays even seem to develop quicker. Seattle was playing the game at 100 mph while Denver was playing at 80 mph. It seemed their slowest play was when they handed off to Lynch.

Were they to play again next week the game would be closer ... but that's what makes football so great and different from the other sports ... you don't get that chance again until next season. Their offense benefits from playing against that super fast defense in practice ... fun to watch IMO.

Watching the game I remember when some experts once said Brady had the fastest footwork in the pocket ... it was a great weapon for Brady. Wilson has incredible foot speed ... in the pocket ... not even speaking of his scrambling ability.

Their defense is incredible. I figured they would shut down the Broncos offense but they shut it down better than I could have imagined.

There's a reason why I didn't feel as bad losing our last game this year as last year. And this team was 50% of that reason. The other 50% was the 49ers. It was obvious for me by the end of November, whoever shows up from the AFC, was going to have a very bad day.

I honestly didn't see our team beating these guys this year either so I'm ok with rebuilding for next year. We were just too decimated and there's only so much patching Bill can do. Only so much a game plan and strategy will take you. At some point, man vs man, physical talent vs physical talent, becomes too great a discrepancy to overcome. NFL is like chess, but it is NOT chess. Strategy is part of it, but only a part. And really only a big deciding factor when physical talent is balanced or close to balanced. In the case of the Pats vs Seattle, it would have been nowhere near close in terms of that physical talent for any strategy to make up the difference. If I had to rate teams just in terms of power and speed, Seattle would be a 10 this year, and Denver would be about a 6 or a 7 at most. We were somewhere below 5 so I don't see it turning out much different. Sometimes it comes down to who punches who in the mouth and beats the other guys into submission, and that's exactly what happened last night.

I think the 2 best teams in the NFL played in the NFC Championship game.

Apart from the 2012 team which had them beat in their own backyard and bottled late on, you mean?
