We. Have. Revis.

Wrong.

Nothing in his contract prevents us from franchising him next year.

so you can decline to exercise an option and use the franchise tag instead? That sounds strange, but I defer.

nope, the option year all but voids the possibility. The Pats keep face by not waving the franchise tag, but they arent tagging in 2016, since they arent going to get to 2016 on this deal.

Do we have confirmation of this?

I was going off an old tweet from Breer, but he (and subsequently I) are mistaken.

Re-reading the terms of the contract, the franchise tag can't really be applied in '15.

I have since deleted my original post.

EDIT: Breer just tweeted:
"There isn't a no-tag provision in the deal. But this prevents patriots, logistically, from using it next year."

Bills fans think we overpaid. They are just as stupid as Jest fans IMO.

Fans of the team that gave Mario Williams $100MM and traded Marshawn Lynch for peanuts.

Let's not get carried away. That's like saying someone convicted of petty theft is just as evil as a serial killer.

I'm sure this was already posted, but not about to look for it. Funny.

Marshawn Lynch was bad in Buffalo and is somewhat overrated in Seattle (I'd rather have Fred Jackson) and Mario Williams was one of the better defensive players in the league last season. There are many worse things the Bills have done.

he's only counting 7M against the cap this year.........

many years of sucking has lead to them being insanely delusional. Stevie is going to torch Revis apparently

He's the one player who gives Revis fits. He also gives Richard Sherman fits. He's a unique route-runner and is very hard to cover. A much better player than the parade of mediocrity that the Bills trot out at QB has ever deserved.

Your assessment of Marshawn Lynch is insane.

Mario Williams did play great last year. Unfortunately, he would have to sack the QB on 50% of snaps for his contract to be worth what he got. You simply can't give that kind of money to anything but a top 5 (maybe 10 these days?) QB.

Well, ok, but there is no way in bloody hell we overpaid for Revis. There are plenty of people around these parts and in the Boston media who would very happy to point out all the ways in which this was a BB screwup but I haven't heard a peep. Bills fans just look dumb.

I'd say Stevie has been average at best against Revis. but then again average against Revis is like being elite.

With the 2015 option written into the contract, am I correct in assuming that NE is not allowed to franchise in 2015?? ....because....with out such a rule, NE could franchise in '15 for approximately $14 mill + the $5 mill carryover from '14 = approx $19 mill cap hit instead of the $25 mill if '15 extension kicked in

Your assessment of Marshawn Lynch is insane.

In Buffalo? He ran for under 4 yards per carry and had issues with law enforcement.

In Seattle he averaged 5 yards per carry in 2012 but the other two years (including this past year) averaged a pedestrian 4.2 yards per carry. He's okay but nothing special as either a pass protector or receiver.

The guys on WEII just said no franchise tag clause.. but seems others are simply saying its just logistically impossible to franchise tag..

Anyone have any word on what the ***** ass Jets fans have to say bout Revis coming here?

This is true. In 6 career games against Revis, he's averaged 4.67 catches for 64 yards and 0.5 touchdowns each game, which is extremely impressive.
