We are on to Kansas City...

Never forget..

I personally think this offense is gonna start to roll down the stretch and into the playoffs. The timing and execution (which i think are the biggest issues) will be fixed. This coaching staff is too good for this type of inconsistencies.

Now we see if the Boogeymen were complete frauds all along. This defense was built to beat KC.

I didn’t buy the hype that they were an all time great defense. But they are still excellent, best this team has had in 15 years, and certainly more than capable of winning a title with a struggling offense.

A tough game against the toughest opponent QB since Fivehead in his prime won’t change that opinion.

I still worry more about the Chiefs as a playoff opponent than the Ravens though it helps in both cases to be at home. Neither will be an easy out for sure.

Never forget..

Hopeful they turn it around on offense but this year just feels different from others. They’re usually hitting their stride at this time but it feels like they’re regressing this year. For the first time in a long time they seem vulnerable.

I won't lie and say I feel great about where the offense is at this point, but as of week 15 last year they weren't operating well on offense (or defense really for a lot of the time). So it was even later last year that they found some identity.

That said, last year should absolutely NOT be taken as some kind of blueprint for how a championship season should usually unfold. It would be like saying, "Look at SB51" if the Pats found themselves down 28-3 in the Super Bowl again. Sure, it's a reason not to give up, but it's not a good sign.

Agreed. You can't just assume the Pats will flip the switch again in late December like last year. In many respects, the team was fortunate to win despite playing poorly at times last year and getting a few breaks against KC. Those type of breaks may not go our way this time around.

There is no blue print for anything. Every year has its own challenges and different issues. Nothing is ever the same.

The point of referring back to last year is just to make people realize how pointless any playoff predictions based on what they are seeing now are and by extension how useless the over exaggerated statements are. The season didn't end against the Texans.. all that happened was a ****ty game.

Is there any certainty that things will work themselves out ? No of course not. It could end after the first playoff game. But at the same time there is more than enough evidence in the past that the only thing that matters is how the team will look and execute when they step onto the field in January.

There were times when they looked unbeatable in December like the 2010 team and they got spanked hard in the first round and then there were times where they looked mediocre like the 2018 team and the season ended with a title.

But people sure like their idiotic narratives.

The Chiefs/Andy Reid in the playoffs worries you? Seriously?

That franchise always finds a way to lose in the postseason, be it at home or on the road, and we all know about Andy Reid's postseason history.

Mahomes worries me more than Jackson.

Mahomes worries me more than Jackson.

Mahomes has looked bad in his last two games and their entire team is soft both mentally and physically.

The Chiefs can't run the ball or stop the run. They aren't going far in the playoffs.

He has not looked bad to me. He has looked pretty good in fact, especially running. I don't think his leg is impacting him anymore.

Let's put it into perspective. Their passing game is averaging far fewer yards/game and fewer TDs in the last two games than NE's. Mahomes also has a completion% of 54% during that stretch.

Also, just watch the actual games. His footwork has been off and he's constantly missing guys downfield.

Yep.

The Chiefs defense has also improved from a weakness last year to a group that imo is underrated.

I'm struggling with the logic here. They are not going to be taking many chances in a blowout. You'd expect depressed numbers in a game they won 40-9. Our passing numbers were inflated for precisely the opposite reason: the Patriots were getting blown out.

He was averaging 4.4 yards per pass in that game, and 5.6 in the game before.

In honor of Pats/Chiefs week, here's a stroll down memory lane to Brady's first game vs. KC. Troy Brown with a monster game. I think he ended up with 16 catches.

On the other side of the ball, Priest Holmes instilled the fear of God in me that day. Good Lord, was he unstoppable that game.

Regards,
Chris

We have a kicker yet ?

there’s also a book out on the Patriots pass defense, exploited by the Bills, Ravens and the Texans. Unfortunately exploiting that flaw getting LBs to pursue and speedy receivers getting YAC is right in Mahomes wheelhouse.

We’ll see what happens on Sunday but they will not be an easy out at all and I don’t really want to see them in the playoffs.

No ****. It's Thursday and we don't have an experienced placekicker on the roster.

I bet they are waiting for Cowart to be cleared and Folk to pass the medical.

If neither happens then it very well might be Bailey for a game and someone else holding.

Wasn’t this the case last year after MIA and PIT? Different year, different team. They’ll find a way.
