So that's a new thing with Kyle and "Elite Eats" ....I've watched a few....basically eating at restaurants and talking about the food....in greater Boston...with Wifey. After I typed that I realized I have way to much time on my hands.

Karras with the classic scotch LL Bean flannel, an item that feels like would be a staple in any Patriots O-lineman’s closet.

They did give up 30... Baltimore scored 37 and had the fumble return for 7...Jackson TD, Tucker fg, Edwards TD, Boyle TD, Jackson TD...it's even worse writing it

You're right, they did indeed allow 30 (out of 37), my bust.

I think I was stuck on 23 out of 30 because I have the dvr currently paused at 30-20 early in the 4th quarter...

Looks like I'm not winning the PTS contest this week either.

Apart from the '85 Bears making their Super Bowl Shuffle music video, I can't ever recall a professional athlete taking the time to focus on some other pursuit during the season, on top of his obligation to his team, that worked out well. Maybe I'm just forgetting them all. But it's easy to remember Lamar Odom and that nonsense with his at-the-time Kardashian wife's TV show, or our recently-erstwhile receiver doing his video feed from the Steelers' locker room, etc. Seems like I'm forgetting a bunch - haven't there been a lot of these in the last decade or so? Have there been any that didn't hurt the player in question's team? I know Brady had his video series but that was focused on football, and obviously it didn't impact his performance enough to matter since we won the SB.

Just my $.02 (although it seems thus far to agree with practically every other post in this thread), but unless you're notching a perfect rating for your position every week and your team is undefeated and steamrolling toward blissful perfection (we were undefeated five days ago but no one thought we would stay that way), it seems to me that if you're an athlete making millions of dollars per year, maybe you ought to put all of your time into maximizing every last ounce of your ability and perfecting your craft. Devoting hours every week to something else comes across as just a wee bit foolish and irresponsible when you get your butt handed to you like this would-be food critic did Sunday night.

Yowza. Thank God not everyone has a personal life.

They're 8-1. Not a bad start to the season considering the patchwork Oline.

I make drastically less money than NFL players and I still don't spend hours a week on any sort of frivolous money-making venture, or vanity venture, because I know it would take away from the money I make (I own a small business). I can guarantee I wouldn't spend any time on such a pursuit if I were getting paid millions of dollars to do something that, done correctly, doesn't leave much time for other pursuits.

Again: if our defense, and the player in question, had played impeccably five days ago, I wouldn't have even made the comment.

I owned a small business for about seven years and was still able to take the kids to the movies or dinner etc..

Expecting a player to be commited to football 100% of the time is both unhealthy and unreasonable.

    They're still 8-1.

For most people it's incredibly counter-productive to never take a break from thinking about work.

Shooting a video of goofing around at lunch and editing it into a youtube short is not a time-consuming process for computer literate people in 2019. They're not trying to shoot Gone With the Wind in technicolor in 1939 here.

This is easily the most moronic post I have ever seen on this site. I don't drink, have never done a drug, apart from the rare doctor's prescription, in my life, and I have five degrees including one from Johns Hopkins. But I'm sure you're far more accomplished just by virtue of being from a northern state.

I try as much as possible not to make posts directly attacking the character of other posters, but you're a simpleton and a fool.

I agree that 100% of a player's time is unreasonable to expect. However, if you think shooting anything that actually airs on any television channel with enough viewership to get watched, is a five-minute process, you just haven't been a part of video production. I have a background in film production, and shooting even just a thirty-second commercial for the Armed Forces Network is an all-day affair even just for the talent and production crew; and the producer and other behind-the-scenes folk spent weeks on it, from the script to storyboarding to location scouting to casting etc., before it got to that point.

Even speaking strictly about only the time spent filming: for every minute of screen time you see on air, you can count on them having shot ten minutes of footage, usually more. And you don't just show up and start shooting instantly: for every minute of shooting there's five minutes of lighting set-up, makeup, set design, sound set-up, camera re-positioning, talent coaching from the director, etc. Shooting a twenty-two-minute segment (leaving eight minutes for commercials) is easily a twelve-hour day.
