And AD's ability to play SILB is a bonus to that. I think outside of the base defense, Belichick will just put the best linebackers on the field, regardless of position.
I don't think there's anyway we'll get Peppers AND Taylor. But I think we can get Taylor. Woods provides a 3rd quality starting OLB, TBC provides a quality pass rusher, Crable & a Day 1 OLB are unknowns, but potentially valuable as well. So we'd have the ingredients to have a healthy rotation at OLB.
Heck, we have the ingredients for a healthy rotation at OLB without either Taylor or Peppers.
I do agree that the odds of the Pats getting Peppers and Taylor is slim to none. I would bet they get one or the other though.
I was just saying that I think the addition of both wouldn't neccessarily mean that Bruschi would lose all playing time. AD could see some time at ILB and they would have him along with Taylor and Peppers on the field at the same time if all three were on the team. I just think they would serve more of a three man rotation than all three on the field at once. Bruschi still adds value on running downs.
I think TBC or Woods would be cut in this situation. A situation which I don't expect to see though.
