For those of you attending the Seahawks - Patriots game at Gillette on Sunday keep an eye out for the UNC contingent in Carolina Blue supporting Drake Maye and Sam Howell who will meet on our little Field of Dreams. Both guys were outstanding quarterbacks with similar toughness and styles in Chapel Hill. Sam Howell acquitted himself well in Washington with the Commanders during its period of upheaval in ousting its previous ownership, coaching changes and just all-around chaos. Drake finds himself in a more stable situation but still a challenge with a team in rebuilding mode. Go Heels!

Watched Howell briefly last year and he was having to run for his life and get the ball out with that awful OL. Seems like a talented guy who could see latching on to a starting job when having an opportunity with a more stable situation around him.

Wish we drafted him at the time.

Sam Howell is a lot like Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield. Howell is tough, a good passer, and an excellent running QB when the defense leaves an open field in front of him. I wouldn't say he is an elite passer, but he can certainly make all the throws when given time. Drake Maye is a taller, more gifted passer but at 6'4" - 220 has the toughness to take on defenders.

If the the Patriots offensive line continues to show the ability to pass block with consistency, we'll see Drake sooner rather than later.

Side note: at 6'4" -247, Joe Milton is a big man who can also contribute a lot besides that cannon that he has for an arm. I would love to see the Patriots develop a set of option plays for Milton to either throw the ball downfield or run it against defenses that are spread out.

These two rookie QBs could be an incredible tandem for the Patriots if the blocking can get straightened out.

Howell had the most passing yards during the season at some point but the commanders 32 ranked defense was ****
He was better than I thought for his young age , I think in the right situation he can be a serviceable qb, maybe he will establish a career like mayfield on another team
