For those of you that are interested (like me), BSPN Classic is going to show a documentary film about the USFL starting Tuesday night. Here's a link to when it's on:

It sounds like the film will show what I've been trying to tell people for a while - the USFL in itself wasn't a "joke league", but it was sunk by poor decisions by its owners, and really went down the tubes when Donald Trump bought the New Jersey Generals. Unlike the AFL, where the owners all stuck together and made the NFL absorb all the teams, Trump basically saw the USFL as a way to get in the NFL through a back door, and if the other owners got left out in the cold, so be it. I even talked to a guy who wrote a history of the league, and he said Trump used to talk about building a dome stadium in NYC for his team, the "TrumpDome".
