I completely agree, and that's what pisses me off about today. The Patriots team that played in the 2nd quarter, Offense, defense, special teams, coaching - that team is good enough to win the whole thing. That's why the moral victory stuff is falling a little flat to me. This wasn't last year, rebuilding, let's feel good about ourselves. The team that played in the 2nd quarter today is good enough to win the whole damn thing. But it was only one quarter.
They played one of the top Oline and Dlines in the league. That's where games are won. And they showed they can withstand pressure and the can apply pressure even when the opposition has the best OL and probably the best DL in the NFL. That's why I'm optimistic.

Yes. And I agree - but conversely, how do you do that, and STILL lose the game thanks to a sloppy 1st quarter. That makes me less optimistic.

I can't help to laugh at some of you. Loss a very close game that really came down to some coaching decisions not the team play(boutte need to learn how to work the sideline better) and some of you are acting like this team is the jets who never won crap since Joe Namath

Like why do some of you even watch..

Miserable incels need something in their life

Macs arm is weak. There were so many wobbly spirals. He just doesn't have the genetics of a strong arm and it's not gonna change entering his 3rd year. He's not too clutch. How many sacks does he take on a final drive to kill it

The Patriots are going nowhere because they can't score these offenses in the NFL sleepwalk into 25 points on a C+ type of day, the Patriots need like the game of the year offensively or a bunch of turnovers to score 25.
This is truly a genius statement to make after 14 games have been completed and 21 teams scored less than 25.

If Bill takes the 3 points or Boutte can keep his feet in bounds twice on good throws we are talking about how the Patriots beat a good team and mac looks much improved.

No game is perfect so to not pick poor passes here or there is futile. But those 3 plays/decisions really cost the game.

And on bouttes last miss really changes the narrative. Mac leading a win possible with 4tds.

Mac Jones is 0-12 when the other team scores 25.

He has no signature win, he has no signature moment, he can't make plays to win games.
What does that have to with other teams score 25 on a C+ day being mononemtally stupid comment.

Outside of the Q1 mistake Mac was outstanding. Henry and Bourne both had a big drop and Boutte misplayed the sideline twice.. If it weren't for a dumb coaches decision (no FG) there's a good chance we win this game.

Eh.

He was phenomenal in the 2nd quarter. He was fine, more or less in the 2nd half, but did miss some throws, and was bailed out by a couple of really sweet catches.

I still don't understand the decision. Why get rid of folk if you don't trust your rookie kicker

Guyz, we don't have Brady nor Gronk. This team is slowly finding it's feet. The offensive line hasn't played together apart from last 2 weeks.

If Boutte puts in 2 feet we all wood be talking about Superbowl aspirations.its the first game and considering the 16-0 deficit in q1 the team really rallied well .

Bourne, Henry and juju had drops.

Boutte 2 improper toe daps and juju drop caused 3 drives to stall.

We could have tried the field kick. So there are lots of ifs.

But considering what we did last year and the fact that we have new OC and trying to rev up confidence of Mac this was a good game .

Once we win a close game it will become a habit. This eagles defense is insane .first half we couldn't run and it rained hard causing Mac to throw more which was not his forte. We should have been conservative with our play call there.

The team looks extremely promising . The rookies are contributing m gonzo with pass breakup, white with his pass rish5, Douglas and Boutte with their catches and route running, Barringer with his booming punts, Mafi and sow on offensive line.

We will improve. Have patience . We don't need gunslingers. Mac touch on the ball and ball placement was impeccable . Not everyone can lay it perfectly in the middle or in the seam . Hang in folks . Good things will happen.

Tough loss, but they are already a better team than they were at any time last season. And as far as the way they want to play offensively the Eagles are a really bad match, as their run defense is excellent, and the Patriots want a run first offense, the kind of game they had to play today was the last kind of game they want to be in. They made critical mistakes, but they still played their asses off, which will pay off if they are able to not only maintain it, but improve significantly as the season goes on, which was the hallmark of their dynasty teams. And I’m not comparing them to those teams, only the need for them to have that quality if they are going to succeed. In the documentary about the 2014 Seattle/Lombardi season Belichick was asked when he knew he had a Championship quality team, and he said it was after the K.C. game, where they got blown out and their obituary written. But he said that they went out in the second half of that game, knowing they would lose, but played their asses off on every play. So people can focus on the close losses over the past few seasons if they want to, but there was a lot of good on display in that game, and if they can continue to build on it they could make the playoffs.
